The cakewalk ends for starmount.. they actually gonna have to show up and play this Friday night!! I personally think Murphy will pound the rock. Good luck to both teams and congrats on great seasons. Murphy by 14!

This could be a classic. Murphy will be favored as they should be. Most critics will tell you playing at home is a +3 advantage and that's before Starmount drives 4 hours. Murphy is big, tough, and physical! Sort of remind me of the old Tom Osbourne Nebraska teams (not that they run the same offense or defense). Weather may play a role as well especially if it gets sloppy. I am sure Murphy is praying for rain soaked game as most would think that would be to their advantage. It all comes down to turnovers, penalties, and playmakers. The team that negates the drive killing penalties and turnovers and has their playmakers make big plays will win the game. Some athletes live for these moments and some shy away under the brightest lights. Most of Starmount's playmakers have grown up this year. They have excepted the challenge, fought through adversity, and bounced back from the disappointing loss at West Wilkes. We will see Friday but there is something different about this Ram bunch! The critics don't give the Rams a chance!! Poor little ole Starmount........ Give me the Rams by 1 on the road against the best team (arguably) they've played this year, in the toughest environment they have played in this year!!!
Actually I would think nobody is praying for a rain soaked, sloppy game. IMO, the only way the Dogs lose this game is by beating themselves with silly penalties and turnovers (which tend to happen more in the rain). If it’s reasonably dry and if Murphy plays a good game with limited mistakes, the Dogs will have a date with mighty Tarboro next week! If the Dogs fiddle fart around and make mistakes, then the door opens for the rams. Can’t wait to get it all started tomorrow!

I’m pulling for the Rams as they are in the same conference as the EW Cardinals. I have seen them improve tremendously especially with play-calling offensively! Murphy’s power offense is a different animal and watching it dismantle Corvian early and often was pretty impressive! If there is any difference that may possibly be it! Starmount has been solid all year against the run except for 2 games that stick out for me and that is Alleghany and West Wilkes! I will give their Offense Kudos for improving exponentially from the beginning of the year and how they improved in spreading the ball around! I do think this Murphy team and that Huge O- line will give their RB’s enough steam to cause few Nightmares for the Defensive backfield of the Rams for big chunks of yards possibly too many times! I could definitely be wrong to go back to those two games in West Wilkes and Alleghany as far as rushing teams that gave the rams a few issues that i didn’t expect as to forecasting Murphy’s rushing attack giving the Ram’s a few headaches but that’s my take! Does that equal a win for Murphy.. well it definitely equals a huge advantage and add the home field advantage as well.. It could be a crucial uphill battle to overcome.. along with that long bus ride! Good Luck Rams! Bring it Home for the MVC!

Murphy has played spread teams who pass the past two games (which is a different style then they are use to play) and this week they finally get back to normal, physical football. This game to me has all the makings of how the Robbinsville game went earlier in the season when they game to The Hill. That game was a hard-nose, physical running football game with Murphy edging out the win 17-10. That was a defensive battle to the end! Murphy turned it over twice in the red-zone that game and do that against this starmount team, Murphy will come away with the L. Now grant it, that was Cameron Clem's first game back from injury so he was a bit rusty (which so far in the playoffs, that hasn't been the case) but I think its going to come down to who avoids the most mistakes. To me, this is going to be a defensive battle and low scoring game (I could be wrong but this has the writing on the wall to be that type of game)... regardless, whoever makes it out of this game, they are going to have a jagurnant in Tarboro (yes, we all know they are going to win their game). May the best team win!!

'Dogs going to be short handed tonight, I hate it but it is what it is.
Who is gonna be out? Starmount lost probably their second best lineman earlier in the year to a season ending injury. He's a big strong kid. I've been worried that would finally catch up to them against Murphy’s size.

#71. He's going to give it a go on offense but he's not healthy enough to play defense tonight. Definitely going to make containing Starmount's run game a lot more difficult.

I wonder if EW fans think MA or Corvian is better this year. It would be 100% speculation either way, just curious what they think since they played both. EW definitely feels like they were a couple untimely mistakes from beating Corvian. Sounds like all 3 teams are a few untimely mistakes from being pretty even, which is what you expect in the later rounds of the playoffs.
For whatever its worth, I personally I think MA is better than Corvian this year. We played tooth and nail with both, turnovers costed us the game against Corvian.

Impressive Defense Rams! Get rid of the crazy self inflicted wounds and you can prove everyone including myself wrong.. you guys have shut their run game down pretty good this 1st half. Very Impressive to go into Murphy and do what you’re doing so far. Keep it up!

The Rams are holding that invincible, potent, unstoppable offense to 0. Not cakewalking as mentioned above….. That is despite some horrible officiating!
