Schedule
Bandys vs Bunker Hill (Last year's game had some excitement at the end of the game. Bandys will for sure get revenge for that. If coaches want to, they should be able to score 60 easily)

East Lincoln at North Lincoln (Rival game. Not sure that will be enough to prevent East from scoring 50+. Not sure if NL QB will be back or not, not that it would matter)

Foard at Hickory ( Foard got a couple wins earlier in the year. Good for them. Only other potential win may be against Bunker. This has the chance to be a running clock)

Maiden vs West Iredell (Shaping up to be the game of the week. Not sure anyone has convinced @amaidendevil that West is for real. This is their shot to convince him.)

Newton Conover - much needed bye

Lincolnton vs East Gaston (should be a blow out based off of recent scores)

North Lincoln got yardage against them but North Lincoln kept shooting their selves in the foot losing big yardage because the quarterback pitch badly or fumbled. A lot of pitches caused their RBs to lose momentum by stopping to get the pitch or it being behind them

Yup. must be the reason WI doesnt put stats in maxpreps. How much yards did the Devils let up to NL ?

It's not same comparison I would not use these 2 games as a comparison. NL having to use a freshman QB changes the dynamic and efficiency of their offense. I wish we had another common team to compare to. But ultimately Friday night will decide the final say

Bandys at Bunker Hill: The Bears woes continue as the Trojans come calling. Bandys could beat a lot of teams.....Trojans by 21.

East Lincoln at North Lincoln: North might be this year's tough luck team. Heard the quarterback was injured. All the best to him and hope he can return, soon. Mustangs by 21.

Foard at Hickory: Few teams would want to have Foards assignment this coming Friday. Tornadoes by 35.

East Gaston at Lincolnton: Always liked East Gaston for sentimental reasons...Wolves by 18.

West Iredell at Maiden: Glad to see the Warriors doing well. Already I've been burned, twice, picking against them...They come into Maiden's Tom Brown without blemish, but unfortunately that won't last, and them being unbeaten will only stoke the fires of the blue inferno... Frankly, I'm beginning to wonder who in 4A can beat them. If Bandys cannot do it, look for Maiden football to be the chief topic of discussion at their Thanksgiving meal...Blue Devils by 14 in Flyrod's game of the week.

Side Note: AMD, In my 23 years on this site, I'm certain, now, you are the only poster to ever connect a football formation to political theory... Just Amazing...I wouldn't be surprised if when you go uptown in Maiden, that citizen mutter between themselves, "Is that him"?
Oh, and word is, teams using the triple option aren't happy about it, either.

Easy Picks this week. Cant see anyone picking something differ than someone else

Bandys- Highland Tech type game maybe?

East Lincoln- losing to North a couple years I'm sure they'll make up for all that Friday with ease unless that freshman QB is a motivated fast learner and athletic but wont be enough even if that was the case. 4 score win.

Hickory- Go find a closer game Cheerduck. Go check out Freedom and see if they would have what it would take to have a go against Hickory if they were to play. That'd be a classic I 40 matchup going back to the old days.

Lincolnton- punter will be bout as busy as the Led Zeplin drummer for the 1st 10 min of Stairway to Heaven

Maiden- no North Lincoln type setbacks, no problem. WI dreams dash this friday. Possible upset potential, best and most competitive one of the night out of all these.


Bonus game pick for fun but not count: (unless you want it to count) Freedom over AC Reynolds in what may be tight. Something for Maiden fans to cheer for, let Freedom show ya how its done with the best show in Burke co. I mean hey its bout the only show this year.

I'll stay with our Red Tornadoes. Freedom is good. but they haven't played any good competition so far.

I can't disagree, Freedom hasn't played anybody yet espacially last week. Skinny Friday pretty much. This will and can be Freedoms first real test against a pretty good but not usual AC Reynolds. They did beat Maiden but coulda easily went the other way if a couple things went right according to good source. Prob only reason I brought this game up. A well coached Freedom is coming around and this will be the best matchup in the area next to Maiden and West Iredell. Everything else even in the conference next door in the foothills way too predictable. Oh, forgot Hibriten and East Rutherford, that'll be a good showdown and determine top dog in that conference. Should Freedom win they'll be Wataugas best matchup up to date. Be cool to see Maiden face Watauga again but this year wouldn't be as close I wouldn't think.

The only stats available for West Iredell on MaxPreps is the North Iredell game...they have not entered in stats for East Burke, Foard, or North Lincoln. I would have liked to done a team comparison but you can't when their coaches can't be bothered to enter in their stats. They have some good looking athletes and I know their skill guys are getting college looks, you would think their stats would be all over the place.

Amario Spence is a beast number 8 a Junior. He is the team leading rusher. He can also be a problem on defense. He also caught a TD pass vs North Lincoln. He looked like he would be a good TE with his size at the College level. We will find what West Iredell will have the next 3 games.

He's sized like a big WR in back field. Definitely taller than our RB but lighter than ours.

Interesting use of a movie scene here. I would not consider myself a fan of the West Iredell Warriors but I am a big fan of classic cinema. In the 1979 Film The Warriors, there is a conflict between the Warriors and the gentleman in this movie scene clicking the bottles together. The warriors win that conflict and travel back to their home turf and given ultimate respect while the group that is defeated gets run out of town. Foreshadowing from AMD?

Why is a Mooresville fan so interested in the game between WI and Maiden?

Is it because Maiden owns Mooresville?
Did you know? Maiden is 6-3 all time vs the other devils east of the lake

1996...is that when you graduated from Mooresville? that puts the 1992 fall season as your freshman year.
Did you know? Maiden won that matchup 21-6...have you been waiting on revenge for 33 years and want to get it vicariously through the 2025 West Iredell Warriors?

Or maybe, is it a just a county pride thing?

I guess no matter how I try to look at it, you're just a loser in every one....and you've somehow found this shimmering ray of hope to attach yourself to in comparing the defenses. Okay...go ahead. It doesn't change who you are.
Did you know? Maybe you're the problem, if I were West I would distance myself from someone with such bad luck. Not that they're claiming you, but it's best to remove leeches as soon as you can.

As far as West Iredell goes. ⬆️ This has nothing to do with you guys, it's specifically for the unbiased media personality. The Warriors look good, have athletes all over, defense looks legit, offense has playmakers. Maiden is taking you seriously and is looking forward to a great game. If you want some local grub, Brookwood and Don's Grill are the hometown spots. We also have two Mexican restaurants, I prefer Mi Casa. Travel safe and we'll see you then if not before at the JV game.

North Lincoln QB thats runs the offense was out with an injury. They had to rely on a inexperience Freshmen at QB. That was the difference for North Lincoln. Give West Iredell credit they played a great game with the win.

Appreciate it, we've tried telling him that the two teams didn't face the same NL offense.

Reminds me of the story about a man who was caught up on his roof during a flood. He was a religious man and he prayed, earnestly, for God to save him from the flood. During the first hour of prayer a neighbor came by on his little fishing boat and called out to him, "Mr. BlueDevil1996!, come down off that roof, I have room for you!" But the old man wasn't having it, "No, No, go on save yourself, God is going to save me, I have faith!"

The next hour of prayer goes by and the county sheriff's office came by on a larger motor boat. "Mr. BlueDevil1996!, we're here to rescue you, please vacate your roof." Again, it was useless..."No, no, I have God on my side, and faith that he'll save me, please move on to other houses...save other people who need it!" cried the old man.

Several more hours go by, showered in rain and in prayer. The National Guard makes a low pass in an evac helicopter, sees the old man still on his roof. The waters have now risen over the gutters of the house. The wind has picked up and they can't stay out any longer. They drop a rope and lower the basket. BlueDevil1996!, firm in his faith, waves them off..."It's too dangerous to be flying in this, get out of here, go save yourselves, God will save me!!"

Right before he drew his last breath and was swept away, he yelled out "Why, God!? Why!?"

Once on the other side and through the pearly gates, BlueDevil1996! found God and asked him, "Why did you let me perish? I prayed earnestly for hours, I've been a good and faithful servant, why did you not save me?"

God took a deep breath, wrapped his arm around BlueDevil1996!, chuckled, and said, "I sent you two boats and a helicopter...what more did you want?"

I take offense to anyone who may have graduated high school in 1996 as being called an old man.
