Bandys at North Lincoln (North returned their starting QB this past week and put a few points on the board against Newton. Bandys may be without their QB. If Swett is out, this may be the conference game of the week.)

Bunker Hill at Newton Conover (Newton will be too much for Bunker. Again, Bunker had a good run the last couple of years but.....)

East Lincoln at Foard (This is a good game for East to rest before the showdown with Hickory. When will the running clock start...)

Hickory at West Iredell (Does Hickory have any let down after a test against Maiden and look ahead to the following weeks' matchup for the conference championship game vs East....)

Maiden - Bye (good timing before a tough stretch to end the season)

Lincolnton vs Shelby (. I know this isn't a conference game but this is the game of the week. Sorry conference. Should be a decent crowd, especially with Maiden's bye.)

Bandys- North just lost too much to be able to compete even if Bandys don’t have their QB. They may surprise us all but doubtful

Newton- normally be a good game but Bunker lost everything apparently.

East Lincoln- 2nd string should play whole game if anyone is not hung up on making stats

Hickory- West Iredell has to play some real teams now and Hickory having a break from a close game last week


Shelby- it’s Shelby. I mean it’s Shelby, lol. They got this. Still a classic game to see.

Beamer I’m glad you got confidence in the Knights like that. However seeing Bandys play Kings Mtn close I’d say they won’t fold up against North. We’ll see what happens. North does have a tendency to play Bandys close and they usually do over the years

That store in Maiden were you get off of 321(coming from Hickory) take left then that big right at the intersection right there then Maiden is 2 miles on right after that, yeah that store. I have no idea what the name of it is. Some one can drop off the prize in envelope with your user name on envelope and theres your prize. Gift certificate, no cash we dont gamble lol

Any idea what Bandys backup QB situation is like? They have a good history of pretty solid QBs so I would guess they have a decent option. But Swett does a lot for that team so I know if he’s out that’s a big hit for them.

Can’t help but chuckle looking at the new Max Preps 4a rankings that just updated yesterday.

Newton, Bandys, West Iredell all made huge jumps in the statewide rankings…Mt. Pleasant did too.

Judging by Max Preps SOS for each of those teams is why they moved up so much….I guess.

I see Mtn Heritage is the new #1 in Max Preps 3a rankings as well.

West just doesn't have much offense and I could see the game getting away from West in 2nd half. Im sure Hickory still has plenty of depth.

Keep hearing that Bandys standout QB is nursing an ankle injury, and I’ sorry to hear that-wishing him a speedy recovery…Think I’d read where NL’s QB Burns, was back against Newton-Conover. Got to give the nod to the Trojans based on record, but this might be a nail biter…Bandys by 8.

Bunker Hill at Newton-Conover: The Red Devils by 20.

East Lincoln at Foard: Not much to say, here. Mustangs by 28.

Hickory at West Iredell: Do believe the Warriors are better than I’d first thought, but the Tornadoes, I’m thinking, are one of the top five, 5A teams in the west, and maybe the state. Hickory by 21.

Shelby at Lincolnton: Flyrod’s out-of-conference game of the week.
it’s going to be tough for us…The Wolves by 10.

Post Script: my daily exercise routine takes me by our stadium. I don’t ever go inside the stadium itself because practices are closed and I’m careful about even standing up at the top at the fence, watching, as there are signs up, saying practice is closed to the public.

Today, I did stop at the fence, at the top, and watched some of it. Our coach called the team together and made an inspiring speech. He is a good speaker and has a loud booming voice.

I couldn’t understand all that he said, but I did make out some of it, and it even fired me up. Frankly, I may have had a mini-stroke. The reason I think this is because my left eye-lid flitted like the shutter of a very high speed, fast-frame camera; so to kind of calm myself down I left and went on with my routine. Anyway, I surely hope our team can rise the occasion, Friday…Go Wolves.
