Bud, Zedarius, Meant, Melvins Lewis, Josh Forrest, Badet, Johnson, Baker, many of the RS WR look very good.

I think the biggest issue right now is that we don't have difference makers at the key positions (QB, dline, and LB). That makes the development of the secondary look non existent, and makes the online worse than it appears.
I agree on QB. Jackson at U of L erases a lot of mistakes. To be honest, I didn't think Bud and big Z performed at the level they could have IMO their last year. I haven't seen enough of the RS WR's to say they are improved. Having two DE's like those two should have been a DC's paradise.

It's like we can never put it all together. Bud and Z did awesome their last year. The problem was, they were double teamed most of the time, but noone else could help then out. The corners were bad then (Quinn and Tiller were there), the safeties were bad, Forrest was in his 2nd year at really being a LBer, and the interior line was poor.

Fleck stomps all over Lovie Smith and the Illini 34-10, giving Western Michigan 2 wins against the Big 10 this season.

Hopefully, Barnhart is working the back channels with Fleck's people.

I thought when Illinois hired Lovie that it was a terrible choice. He hasn't disappointed.

This doesn't need to be an anti-stoops argument. I hope we win 6-7 and use it as a building block to develop long term success with Stoops but logically that is not likely to happen so we should have backup options in mind and pj fleck is the guy in my mind.
