I don't think Patton will score that much against freedom unless it's 49-0 late and they score 3 times.

McDowell and RS will be much closer than that. It always is and McDowell will score points this year.

I can’t wait to see the R-S Central-McDowell game. R-S’ defense is much improved and they have more depth this year. It’s always a good test for both teams.

McDowell will look completely different with their new coach. I think it will be a close game and the team that makes the least mistakes will win

I think Freedom will beat Patton easily, but that coach Whisnant will have his team fired up and they will play hard all game, I expect something like 42-14 Freedom, but not a running clock. The Panthers had a good JV team last year and they want to make a good show of it in their first game back playing varsity football. If they win four games this year they will have exceeded expectations.

Freedom big over Patton by 28 no bad feelings for Patton but I don't see them hanging around in this one. Hope Patton proves me wrong and can hang with them but I doubt it.

South Caldwell over WC by at least 21

Hibriten wins over EW by 14 this might turn out to be a really good game to watch

West Iredell over EB by 8 - Not really familiar with West Iredell I think they struggled last year but probably had a young team. I wouldn't count EB out of this one it will be a special night at Danny Williams Field with them retiring Tyler Shatley Jersey. I think EB will be ready for this one I expect it to be a good game. I'll take West Iredell by 8 though I could see it going any way to be honest. Prove me wrong cavs - GO CAVS!

McDowell over RS - I have mixed feelings on this game and I really want to bite my tongue on this pick. I've heard some good things about RS now whether the things I heard are true or not time will tell. But this game will be a good one both teams are going to go hard at it they always do when they go up against one another McDowell in a close one by 4

From experience impossible to get a #1 seed and almost impossible to get top 3 seed with West Caldwell in your conference

RS won by 3 last year at home and by 7 in OT the previous year. The games are always close. I heard RS lost their best RB McEntire and they run an offense that can be explosive but can also lead to turnovers if the timing is off on the option. I would be shocked if this was more than a 2 score game either way. It's almost always close. I picked McDowell because 1. Im a homer and 2. They are at home with a new system on offense and defense. 3. They return almost all of their skill players.

First two games I listed I could see coming down to the wire, I think Hibriten and East Wilkes will be close with Hibriten pulling away by 2 TDs late. The rest of the games listed will be blow outs I think.

McDowell vs RS was a very good game between 2 pretty even teams. Turnovers really hurt RS and ultimately led to the McDowell victory. RS will win some games this year no doubt. Thought the RS QB was very solid and they have some speed too. Proud of the Titans for fighting out a close win in the first game for our new coach.

West Iredell looked good when we scrimmaged them. I figured it would be tough on East Burke.

Hibriten won 24-21. East Wilkes was a gritty tough team with some speed.

East Wilkes will be a tough out in the 2A playoffs. Solid team and gave Hibriten all they could handle. Turnovers cost them, that is normally what decides the outcome. Good early season game for both teams.

Watching East Burke last night I had to really wonder if this is a breakout year for West Iredell or some sorta get things together/rebuild/first game jitters/new coach/new system going on for EB with a long year ahead. I expected alittle better but hey. Anyone else on here at the game or was I it? thoughts?

I sure hope so. They were alittle hyped up during the scrimmage portion of the season and have fast athletes graduating after this season with not much to talk about speed wise after December

I just figure those 2 bottom feeders(according to this chart lol) will actually finish higher and not be at the bottom. Maybe West Caldwell has lost 42 straight games they haven't won since 2020 season.

West Draughn and Patton all have about 20-25 kids on varsity. The best conditioned and healthiest amongst them will get a win.
