South Lakes scored first on a TD set up by a 69 yard passing play that got SL inside the WF 10 yard line, going out in front 7-0. WF managed to even the score at 7-7 in the second quarter and after some lackluster offense on both sides the two teams went to the half tied at 7-7.
WF made some offensive adjustments at the half and really started working the run to great advantage in the second half. WF opened the second half with a drive that gave them the lead, followed by a 35 yard FG on their second drive of the half to extend the lead to 17-7 late in the third quarter. After WF intercepted a SL pass they scored again early in the fourth quarter to go ahead 24-7 with about 8 minutes left in the game. SL then answered with a score to get it down to 24-14 with about 6 minutes left before WF used another interception to set up a short drive that gave them a 31-14 lead with just over four minutes left to play. SL then quickly drove down the field, surprisingly using the running game after their short passing game had been quite successful all game, to get their final score with under a minute to play. The game then ended 31-21.
