We lost because Shapen left 24 points on the field.
Yes, he really did. There were at least 2 long passes that he substantially overthrew. But at the end - Ferrie should have been kicking. There was a high risk of a turnover, given what we normally do. I'm far from a football strategist, but even I know you don't try to dump it over the middle into a crowd.

Fuсk that. Ferrie has been one of our best and most consistent players this year. Pinning these losses on him, rather than Shapen (who has had lots of screwups in both games) or Lebby (who had multiple questionable coaching decisions in both games), shows a really weird agenda on your part.

Turnovers for TDs cost the Tennessee game. Blame Lebby, Shapen, the turnstile OL, whatever, but that's where the game was lost.

Shapen really has been awful this season. A change needs to be made.

He hasn't been awful this season, but he was definitely not good on a number of key plays yesterday and it cost us a very important win.

I belive Ferris missed at TAMU and yesterday and TN and maybe that wasn’t on home but he hasn’t been Money of late Think Lebby lost a little confidence

He constantly misses open guys, refuses to look for check downs, has piss poor pocket awareness. He had a good game against Arizona state for sure, but otherwise he’s holding the team back. Now he may be the best QB on the roster but he’s not good and he can’t win in this league.

Also, the one last night was good. Unfortunately, it was over the top of the goal post so it couldn’t be reviewed.
I don't think it was good, but we never got a definitive replay. In college, if the ball passes directly over the upright it is no good

After getting past the early season creampuff part of our schedule, here are Shapen's stats

2 TDs
3 INTs
14 sacks
-51 yards rushing
43.4 QB rating

Toss in the 40 or so points that he's left on the table due to overthrows, poor RPO reads, or just flat out holding on to the ball too long, and you just can't win like this. I like the kid, but there is absolutely nothing that he does that gives us an an advantage at QB over other SEC QBs. Every part of his game is limited

Yes he has. Almost every one of his kicks splits the uprights in the middle. The one he missed against Tennessee was an awkward snap/hold and got him out of rhythm. The one he "missed" last night was good, or at the least, could have been called either way. It should have had a second look by the officials.

That's not why we lost those games
We also went on it on 4th down. Lebby definitely has some concerns. Yeah you can't say he lost them but he certainly contributed. That's why I don't understand running it to a spot he feels comfortable and dropping there. Length isn't the problem, it's accuracy

There is a reason we were looking for a top qb in the portal and not doubling down on shapen

And play who? I think that guarantees 4-8.
We are gonna go 4-8 anyway. Our only shot at a win is a shootout with Arkansas and that won’t happen with Shapen. I’ll fully admit he may be the best QB on the roster but it’s time to try something else. He’s been putrid in sec play

Yikes…. Honestly that is worse than I thought it would be.

You said he's been awful all season and that's not true. All I did was point that out.

In your response above you actually said what you meant, and I agree with some of it, not all.

Because of missed kicks. Ferrie has been good but if he makes the kicks against UT & UF, we win.

Disappointing because I thought we had a good one.
If you think the kicker lost either game I don’t know what to tell you.

He could have won this one but he definitely didn’t lose it.
