I hadn't noticed it till this week. They did a pretty good job. They covered about 8 games and their coverage starts at 10:45. After seeing one episode I would already rank them in front of WSLS. Appicello is unbearable to watch, his movie quotes before and after commercial breaks have nothing to do with football. He needs to be replaced or at least tell him to stop trying to be Dennis Miller when he was on MNF. Very few people understood his obscure references and I have to think people think similarly of "Appy"
I would rank the coverage this way:
WDBJ Roanoke (CBS): Friday Football Extra- not as good as it used to be when Mike Stevens was there, but still has the best coverage of the whole area imo. They were the original Friday Football show back in '84. Roanoke/NRV/Lynchburg/Southside
WSET Lynchburg (ABC) Football Friday- Better coverage of Lynchburg/Southside. I think Dennis Carter is my favorite sportscaster still left from the good old days when Mike Stevens and Greg Roberts did sports. Lynchburg/Southside/Roanoke/NRV
WFXR Roanoke (Fox) Only covered 8 games, but they are new to the game and their coverage starts at 10:45 making it difficult to get everybody back and edit their footage. Roanoke/NRV
WSLS Roanoke (NBC) 1st & 10- As stated above Appicello is unbearable. They do start at 11:10 to get a jump on FFE. Roanoke/NRV/Lynchburg/Southside
