One thing I’ve always liked about your Tom is that I’ve never seen him do that, at least against PSU. If mistaken, I don’t recall, but then again, I’m older. Unless sick or injured, I expect the Hawk’s best chance to win at every weight. That certainly includes Angelo. This troll’s most anticipated bouts are 133 and 184.
Drake has seen some really good guys with a few more really good guys ahead. I wish he could wrestle few cupcakes (D1 wrestling doesn't have cupcakes) just to get his attack rate back up. He is a great wrestler who isn't hitting his stride yet, but it is such a tough weight that any slight slump seems terrible. He may wind up with the toughest schedule of any wrestler from any school at any weight if he sees Davino twice,Blaze,Frost,Bird twice,Jax, and all of the BIG before the post season. Yikes!

BTW according to the Iowa media guide this dual was on 12/5 (rather than 12/8 as the article states). Iowa also lists duals against ASU and Cal-Bakersfield on 12/5. So it looks like this was their third dual of the day.
That would be one heck of an effort. The stars would have align pretty well. It could happen, but it is more likely they only win 2.
Iowa needs to win 184, 285, and 125. These 3 weights with 1 or 2 upsets would be a great dual for Iowa. Unfortunately even if Iowa manages to pull off 5 wins, I think they still lose on PSU bonus points. Regardless of what Tom says, I just don't think duals are a priority anymore, but more of a stepping stone until March which sucks for us fans. Carl has the same approach, but they are so ridiculously deep that they can sit 3 or 4 starters every dual and still be heavy favorites and half their backups are better than most team's starters. They have Gabe caliber backups up and down their lineup so injuries or sitting guys still only weakens their lineup marginally. How many times have they had starters go down in the last 5 years and the backup steps in and AA? I don't even want to know that answer unfortunately.
I agree but lets not forget that guy is no pushover. I believe Ben is still healing and taking what he can right now, although I do not like our track record at heavy when it comes to scoring!
First off lets clear the air, I would go to war with TnT. I have also expressed changes need to made, but not at the head coach position. Im going to go one step further and say if TnT do not make progress soon that will make an impact then maybe they are not able to. I still believe they can.
In order of likelihood...
Until you know who is wrestling in any dual it is a fool's errand to bet it. Even then it is tough with coaches' ability to change on the fly.
And Ramos who was #1 at the time when he was 16 in high school in folkstyle.
Blaze beats drake by 4 plus
I get the sentiment based on a couple of his losses this year, but a 2 time finalist certainly has a chance. Drake is still an excellent wrestlers and has proven over the years that he can win tough matches. I think Blaze is one of if not the best wrestlers his age of all time, but he is a true freshman going into Carver. If Drake is going to beat him anytime this year Friday would be his best opportunity imo.
