how long will Tom's post meet presser be? My guess is under 4 minutes with 6 interrupted questions.

The press will only ask questions about guys that did well and Tom will scan the crowd with wide eyes at least 8 times.

One thing I just noticed about the dual tonight but if things go chalk and PSU wins every match except 184 and HWT then I believe the higher ranked recruit will win at every single weight.

Just thought that was interesting

Pyles has Ferrari as our only victory.
Basch predicted PSU in every match although qualifying it with saying that there are enough close calls that he definitely doesn't actually expect them to win every one and Iowa will probably pull out 2 somewhere along the line.

Be careful with that thought - all of the PSU enthusiasts will take issue that Cael is not considered the great developer of talent.

I think it probably depends how it goes and what is happening behind the scenes. We don’t know if there is an injury or it’s something else causing the issues.

I guess the pay only stops if you don't wrestle through them.

i don’t expect much tonight. A few questions i hope to see answered
125 is he on the same level still or was that win a fluke
133 where’s ayala at right now
141 Bailey wrestle? Does Bailey wrestle or just take up space for a few minutes
149 just another tough test for a young stud
157 What Williams is showing up
165 Can he beat him?
174 PK get a big carver moment
184 His defense is elite, can we score more
197 Is what it is
HWT Everyone is so confident in BK here, really needs to find offense against ranked competition

WRT 84, when it’s this level of competition I don’t give a rat’s *** what he scores as long as he wins. Love this kid and pray he doesn’t ever bail on us!!!

After watching PSU break our consecutive dual meet record against Rutgers in true dominance, I'm going out on a limb and say this will be our worst defeat in 50 years.

I'm not betting against Angelo, and Mirasola is too small for Keuter. The rest are losses, with some majors against us.
So, not only is there the grief of being right about it would be the worst defeat in our history, there is also my predictions for the only two wins not happening.

I didn’t feel like sifting through the data myself. So I asked Grok.

As for the biggest margin of defeat in the last 50 years (since 1976), it’s 23 points. This occurred on February 9, 2024, when No. 1 Penn State defeated No. 3 Iowa 29-6 in Iowa City. This is noted as the largest margin in Iowa’s 10-weight-class dual history since the 1969-70 season. Other notable large-margin losses include 27-12 to Cal Poly in 1980 (15 points) and 30-8 to Penn State in 2025 (22 points), but none exceed 23 in the specified timeframe.

The two largest margins of loss in the past 50 years according to Grok are the last 2 years vs Penn State.
From what I can find through Grok, this was the worst loss since the 1965-66 season when Oklahoma beat Iowa 39-0.
