This is the year for us. We are going to make everyone pay. I hope we start to schedule Giles now that they’re down. The single wing ain’t what it used to be and I think they finish bottom half of the region again. I think the two schools that don’t belong in 1A will be the one and two seed, three is probably Narrows after that I’m not really sure. MED is down no matter what those fellers on here from Giles try to convince us of when they find their new man. All I know is we are going to win 7 games and make people remember why we are the mighty mighty bears.

I want to remind you that last season you said Bland would beat up on the Rockets and you lost by 50+ 😂😂😂 If Bland scheduled Giles it would only be for one season because a down Giles team would still hang 60 on Bland any day of the week.

Giles won’t schedule us. That playoff game embarrassed yall too bad. What’s the betting odds yall aren’t even the best single wing team in the region this year?

What was embarrassing about it? Because yall beat us by 8 at our field with the one good team yall have had in decades? We schedule Cburg, Radford, Bluefield, Tazewell, yearly and you think we’re afraid of the Blues 😂😂😂 PM will never be at the top of the region buddy, sorry not sorry.

I don’t care what happened last year Craig county is in for it week 2. They’ve probably not been hitting the weight room like our kids have. Giles ain’t even going to beat Auburn this year. Get out of here

Looks like Craigs motivation is "Fear the Wing". The Coach started 5-6 years ago and ran Double Wing for a year, then some shotgun gun T stuff and now the Giles coached that joined few years back is going to run the single wing after following all the social media stuff. Interesting to say the least. Giles and Craig should schedule each other year in and year out. Hour Drive, Same offense. Whoever gets the ball 2 times a half wins :).

Bath will be Top of the pioneer with the schedule. GW regains the strength and uses the 2A enrollment numbers to succeed, followed by Grayson close. Narrows is fast, but soft. Fort loses the coach but better than anyone below them. Galax rebuilds and steals some Ws. PM is the GW of the pioneer with enrollment numbers and gaining the Rockbridge not so great kids but good for the pioneer. Giles is down but new coach keeps the crowd excited to see what the future holds and steals a few. East Mont hits the weight room and steals a W from a pounding craig gave them last year. Craig new offense in 3 seasons? Struggles- decent back- but soft line. Bland why are you commenting here- LOL-week 4 and you guys fold the season like normal. And Auburn sticks with the girly sports and continues to recruit Cburg, Blacksburg, east Mont, kids to play those sports and not field a team.

Predications:
1. GW
2. Grayson
3. Bath
4.Narrows
5. Fort
6. Galax
7. PM
8.Giles
9.East Mont
10. Craig
11. Bland
12. Auburn
13. Highland- If they every produce a football team I would place them Higher than Auburn & Bland...LOL

Auburn 's Middle school and JV were both fairly solid last year. If they come out for varsity, they could be decent. Definitely a numbers game for them

Well that's disconcerting. "If they come out for varsity...". And we're what...less than two months away from practice and no one really knows if they will have a program; let-alone, play a full season thus potentially screwing over teams on their schedule especially late in the season who may have to scramble to find replacement opponents?

Nothing against what you said or your post so please don't think I'm being disrespectful in any way. The phraseology is what jumped out at me. And it would be once again disrespectful to other schools within their district, on their schedule, and even in region and entire classification to eventually fold the tent.

The VHSL should maybe step in (they won't...zero leadership) and say if you a) don't field a team for X years or b) if you field a team and the team doesn't complete an entire regular season in X years, then that school is barred from VHSL competition in that sport for X years.

I probably toot my own horn on this issue louder than a lot of folks and I don't even have any dogs in the fight when it comes to schools not fielding teams. But I'm smart enough and aware enough of the downstream circumstances if this is continued to be allowed.

I understand the argument you're making. But, if the rules were barring teams from playing for periods of time, could force schools to just cancel the program completely. I don't want to see that happen at any school. The reason I worded it that way in original post is I was a little surprised that last year they only had a couple guys sign up to play varsity, after fielding a full team and playing a full schedule the year before. I pin that on the Head Coach. He should be in constant contact with his boys and know well ahead of time what kind of numbers he's looking at. Get out in the halls and try to recruit some guys. Should be doing that regardless at a small school where 1 or 2 more guys could make a big difference in talent and depth
