Perfect example of over coaching

you have to get a hit or walk to stay alive. You PH a freshman, 1st AB in CWS??? Just stupid. It doesn't matter if he hits right or left. At the college level the talent gap is such, it doesn't matter L or R, put your best available up there. Stupid stupid. That didn't lose the game but a wasted AB none the less.

Good move by Cohen, Henderson would have had little chance against sinker ball the closer was throwing. Cohen played the percentages, and it didn't work out. No big deal, we'll win tomorrow.

My biggest complaint against Cohen tonight, is he should've bunted Henderson with 2 strikes. The percentages are better that you will get the bunt down, than they are that you will get a hit. Plus you take the double play out of the equation

Got to agree with you. Lefty-righty matchups are way overrated. Especially when your swapping a guy who's been a solid hitter for the last month for a guy around the Mendoza line who hasn't had an at bat in a month. But it really didn't seem to matter what Cohen did. UCLA has just been clutch all tournament, from the regionals to the finals. They beat the 5 seed twice, the 4 seed, and the 1 seed. This game was just like all 4 of those.

Unless the announcers were wrong, Hendo leads us in sac bunts. But you're right that he didn't look good that time. Hard to criticize Cohen for that move though.

Henderson is normally a good bunter....

he ruined his at bat when he got cute and tried to get a single out of it.

The 2 coaching decisions that I have issues with were not making Henderson bunt on the 3rd strike chance and why in the hell ph Robson? Dude hasn't hit a ball passed the pitchers mound since when? Why not try Slaighter there? I agree Henderson had to be pinch hit for but not Robson. Anybody but him.

UCLA will make us pay for any mistake we make. They scored 3 times. One on a freaking strike out w a wild pitch. One on a throwing error by Ammo. And one on a hit batter. That's how they do it and it worked perfect for them tonight.

You really think that Robson had a better chance at getting on base than Henderson? Really? What percentages are you talking about? It was a dumb de dumb dumb coaching decision. If you gotta PH there, fine, but at least give yourself a chance.
