What about next season's running game?....

Do you think that State will stick to a Dixon-type running game with Ballard (commit), Montrell Conner, or Elliot? Or will Mullen alter his offense to use a smaller, quicker RB like when he had Percy Harvin? We have Ladarius Perkins and Rashod Henry (commit) or even some of our smaller, quicker WR's (Bumphis) that can be that type of runner. Mullen's offense seemed to get better as the season went on with Relf and Dixon, but he'll have a whole spring and fall to install a variation with the quicker RB's. Does that RB choice change depending on who which QB will be taking the snap on a given play? Run bigger or smaller RB's with Russell, Relf, or (hopefully) Cam Newton?

maybe go with who has the hot hand.........I think Ballard will prolly start but I think Elliot, Perkins, and Conner will all get their share of carries.........I've heard good things about Perkins so I'm anxious to see what he can do on the field........

He is a stud, especially since putting on weight while redshirting. We won't be disappointed.

we won't be so dependent on our running game. We'll still run it a ton, but we won't have stat lines of 80 yards passing and 300 yards rushing. With what we're bring in in with Ballard, Rajion Neal, and what we have with Conner, Perkins and Elliott, we'll be fine at tailback.

and be more balanced because we will upgrade ourselves at QB either with Russell/Relf or Newton. I think I saw where we ran 65% of the time or something like that- I think it will go down to about 50% of the time.

I think we will spread the carries around to Ballard, Conner, and Perkins for the most part and maybe get some of the freshmen a few touches. Hanrahan is supposed to be more involved in the running game next year, but I don't expect him to carry it a whole lot. Also, I think we will see Elliott in the slot at WR some, and I think will see Bumphis and Heavens continue to become more and more involved in the running game as well as Elliott.

Chris Relf will probably be used some as well, but I think how much and at what position depends on if/when Newton comes. If we get Newton, I think he will be a force on the running game as well. We all saw how much Ole Miss liked trying to tackle 6'3" 235 Chris Relf and 6'1" 235 pound AD, imagine how much people are going to like trying to tackle 6'6" 250 pound with 4.45 speed Cam Newton and Relf on the option.

Was told Perkins will move to H back and Hanrahan will be used like Ducre he is a very good receiver and strong down hill runner and will block out of two back set.

...I see Bumphis becoming a Reggie Bush type back (except I hope Mullen doesn't run Bumphis up the middle 15 times a game the way Sean Payton does Reggie Bush).

MSU's WR's are going to have to step up next year.

I see MSU's 2010 offense being more like the 2009 Houston offense.
