what am i missing about um football ?

They see things through their delusional OM mindset...
So during the OM-Alabama game they could not tell that the Bama players were basically going through the motions and not giving two 17s about their opponent. They saw teams getting pumped up to play them, similar as a team would prior to playing in the SEC or BCS championship game.
Being an OM fan I do not expect you to fathom that other teams went through the motions against you last year. I've yet to find a handful of OM fans that actually see this. Only one that I know has acknowledged that they snuck up on people last year and this year teams wont take them lightly, thus most likely resulting in a 6 win max win season. I'd think more like 4-5 wins, because other teams will bring it this year, and the OM depth is not deep enough to withstand the opening gauntlet, and remain healthy throughout the remainder of the season. OM will most likely limp through the latter half of the season and lose one they shouldnt due to it.
Look at State last year, started off with a good record (struggled at times to get there). Bama knocked them to the mat 5 seconds into the first round and they limped through the final month. The only reason Bama brought the knockout punch in that game because they wanted to make a statement, 2 undefeated SEC top 12 BCS teams on a national telecast. You mean to tell me they brought this same intensity to a game against a team that won 2 games the previous year? The depth and experience carried us when we struggled early. Maybe state was overrated at that point, but the Bama blow was so big it took the wind out of the sail and the team floundered afterward.
Point being, OM will get smacked in the mouth most likely game 1 and for sure in games 3-7. How easy are those last 4 games looking after you've been beaten to a pulp by 3 of the most talented teams in the country along with talented AU and TX teams? You will get better shots from teams and wear down. If I'm wrong then I'll admit it at the end of the year.

Again, that is convenient for a Rebel hating MSU fan to believe. What's the alternative for you? Believing that we really are a very good football team, that's what. Some on here give credit where its due, some wouldn't say we're a good team if we were the NE Patriots. You and Hee Haw are in the "never give them credit no matter what" group. I know this has been discussed some but I have to say I'd be pissed if we had 6 consecutive home games. Even the most diehard fan/tailgater would consider sitting out one or even two of those games. I can't even begin to think how that conversation would go with the wife or with my liver.

Y'all were supposed to be terrible last year. Kudos for not being terrible, but don't act like A&M was as pumped to play Ole Miss as they were Alabama. I don't want anything from you guys except to wake the 17 up and see a few things as reality, and not ALWAYS resort to spinning it into something it's not. And another thing I would like, is for you guys to respect where the 17 you are. In other words, you're on a MSU board so don't be expected mother17ing Yancy and the Spiriteers when you show up. You don't have to defend every ill word towards your team...instead you should somewhat EXPECT it considering Where You Are.
But then again, maybe I should just quit expecting differently here. Obviously the mods and the rest of the board don't care if this place turns into Nafoom South, so why should I?

See, this is what Im talking about. Why is that so far fetched? You guys aren't the 17ing Packers. I'm not saying I think you guys will lose 8, but I wouldn't be surprised if you lost to the teams 61 just listed.
Lucky for us none of those teams bothered to watch film on us and our vaunted Hail Mary Offense. Kinda weird that MSU didn't take us seriously though. That was nice of y'all.
I'm dead serious. 4 of those 7 are basically locks as losses. Texas, aTm, Bama and LSU. 3 you have a chance but I see you also losing at Auburn, at MSU and at home to a much improved Mizzou. SEC is tough and I don't think Ole Miss has a bad team. I just think 7 maybe 8 other teams on your schedule are better.
