Just watched the pilot of The Midnight Special. Originally aired at 1 AM, August 9th, 1972. It was a "get out the vote" show for young adults. Fun show to watch. John Denver was the host. No lip-synching which was rare back then. Musicians included The Everly Brothers, Cass Elliot, Harry Chapin, Linda Ronstadt, War, Argent, David Clayton Thomas (Blood, Sweat and Tears), Helen Reddy and The Isley Brothers.
Not to be mistaken for the Willie/Waylon Outlaws. One of these dudes was a member of 90s country act Blackhawk.
After going to a Cody Jinks concert over the weekend I have been binging his stuff. There isn't one ounce of "bro country" in old Cody.

Crash Test Dummys had several good tunes back in the day, had not thought of them in years.
Seeing the Argent clip, and most music, sends me down rabbit holes. Think this guy was lead singer on Hold Your Head Up. Some hits for other musicians.
