...from our team in the first game? (Besides if TA is improved and the DLine is any good since those have been talked to death)

Me, I want to see someone, anyone take a hold of the IBack position. And I'm not talking "serviceable" starter status. I'd love to see the running back put the fear of God into opposing coaches!

I'm not even going to watch TA or the ball on offense the first few series. I will be watching the line for signs of attitude, nastiness, finishing blocks for a half second after the whistle, that kind of thing. If I see meanness and swagger, I will feel a lot better about the season. On defense I will first key on Freedom. As goes his ability to pass rush, will be a big part of not getting torched so much this year IMHO.

Tre Bryant love to see a true freshman that's ready for this level. On the defensive side Hoping the no fly zone is in effect. Go Big Red.

Our offense will be special IF the offensive line is good.

Also, we really NEED the linebacking crew to step up. You cannot have an above average defense without playmakers at that position.

Personally, I think we are a couple years away at both positions. I hope I am wrong.

A 40+ point win and no less. Show that this team is pisses about last years results and are determined to get back to 10 win seasons. Yet I would love to see a shutout, if we get that, I want to see a 50 point win. 48 points minimum on the board come Saturday. That would be my best results. if we win by 25-35 points I would hope we score 50-60 points. If we win by less than 25, I will be concerned about this season and will consider each game one that could be lost.

DPE- He's a truly special return man.

The DL- What has JP been able to do with them? Can we get a pass rush?

The newcomers: Farmer, Stolenberg and the Freshmen- Excited to see what these guys can do.

DPE, anxious to see him return punts.

Another thing that gets overlooked in this discussion is the post game dissecting the game to tiny little morsels to build a narrative for not only the first few games, or season, but the entire future of our program.

I love being a part of such a passionate fan base who relishes the exultation (or grousing depending) as much as I do!

Honestly, I want to see if TA is improved and if the staff calls plays to his strength. I loved the UCLA game, but realize that the Bruins were banged up at DT. Secondly, I'm wondering how our DTs are doing with the attrition. Can't wait to see the Davis twins in action as well.

-Would love to see some interceptions by DB's/LB's.
-Dedrick Young, Lamar Jackson, Freedom and the Davis Twins.
-DPE on punt return, Tre Bryant on kick return.
-Runningback rotation.

Coaching!!! I want to see how and if Riley and the staff have made any changes to how the approach game and specifically how they manage the game. I don't think it will be to apparent in this game or the next, at least I hope not, but by the time the Oregon game rolls along, they had better have their **** together. During the middle part of the season last year, there were a series of game that really have me concerned with how this staff handles close games on the sideline.

I want to see smart play calling and making sound situational decisions from the sideline.

I want to see what kind of playcalling mix they have. Specifically I want T.A. pass attempts to be in the range of 1.5 times to double his rush attempts, not triple or above.

I want to see disruptive pass defense. That means generating pressure and making INTs.

The husker triplet (a runza, slice of val's, and red-dog..they should package this and sell it for $10/pop), cheerleaders, and who's first chair for the oboe's (I heard they landed a 5 star last season...let's see if the talent on the field matches the hype!!).

OK seriously, looking for a great senior season from TA in yr. 2 of this offense. Looking to see a big year from our Linebackers (I think Newby, MRI-slightly ironic initials if you think about it, & Bando should be causing some serious fits for offenses). Perhaps Terrell Newby shows the elusiveness we've all been hoping for. Thinking Parella's impact will show immediately and be a huge positive for on field results.

I would be encouraged to see our running game grind Fresno into mush by the fourth quarter. Give future opponents something to contemplate.
