I realize that a good many of us are disappointed with the season and how it turned out and are feeling a bit disillusioned and/or betrayed by Coach Stoops. However, I hope that most of us still want to see the program do well. This is UK's football program, not Coach Stoops, not Dawson's, not Eliot's, not Barnhart's. So, it makes me question what the goals are of people (allegedly, UK fans) on Twitter and other social media who make derogatory comments to UK commitments, recruits, coaches and administrators. Those types of public comments are fodder for our enemies, and only hurt the program. If you have something to say to Coach Stoops, Dawson or Barnhart - call them, email them, or send them a letter. Keep it off social media. And it shouldn't have to be said, don't say anything derogatory to a kid (or his family/coaches) trying to decide what college is best for them.

UK is still a great institution, competes in the best football conference in the country, and has invested nearly $200 million in its football program over the last few years. Despite what happens (or doesn't happen) with Coach Stoops and any of the other coaches, it's still a great option for kids wanting to play football at the highest level while obtaining a tremendous education.

I'm curious what you feel the purpose of this or any other message board serves? I believe UK already has a full squad of cheerleaders, and cheer-leading seems to be all that you've left on the table for us to do.
Incidentally, do you have any more directives we can look forward to?

I'm saying you're a complete (Don't) if you purport to be a UK fan and then rag on UK football players, commitments and recruits on Twitter. Clear now?

Sad state to get on twitter and abuse people. I have never seen a worse crew than this. I have no problem saying the OC is out of his league but I am not going to boo players, or say things to them on social media. I have no problem saying it is deplorable that PT announced his intention to leave Sunday but wish the kid success and health. I have never seen the vitriol of players and coaches. Never, it is awful.
IMO

I really believe that these people always calling out some player or fire this or that coach are not UK fans and are paid plants to disrupt the program. It's always the same foolish idiots and are football idiots from the way they talk.

Ah, yes. That is clear, now. It's not what your OP said, but it's clear.
I apologize, I should have parsed-out the sensible part of your post and ignored the rest. My bad.

I have had this exact same thought for years. I know for a fact that at least 1 UL wolf wore UK clothing and piled on UK Football every chance that he could. He was not paid (that I know of), but I would not be surprised if some are paid plants.

Paying someone to disrupt our football program is a waste of money. It has been a joke for
fifty yrs and that is way before the internet. It seems to have some built in self destruct mechanism.

UK is #11 out of 14 in academic rankings of SEC schools .... ahead of only Alabama, LSU and Mississippi State and just behind Ole Miss and Missouri. The SEC is known for its football and, unfortunately, for diminished academic emphasis.

The Saturday Down South website has an August 2015 article summarizing the Princton Review rankings via-a-vis the SEC schools for anyone interested.

According to USNews, the SEC has 8 schools in the top 50 public university list. UK was 62.
Not great but not too bad either.

The Princeton Review has nothing to do with Princeton University, or any reputable educational organization. It is a rag that sends people who are recruited locally to sit in hallways to ask students their thoughts on subjects the students seldom think about. The result is a publication filled with nonsense.

Thank you. Good stuff.

While some of the message can be moderately debated (which I'm not going to do), the principle of the message is extremely excremely solid IMO.

Anybody that gets on twitter to insult a teenager or even a coach has very little going for them in their life.

That being said, this is a public message board, and no better or worse that most of all the other message boards. Go over the to Texas board and see how happy their fans are. Our football program has beaten me down to the point where I have just about passed the point of caring, so I am about all posted out. Negatively or positively, or neither, just seems pointless.
