Louisville AD Tom Jurich said via school: "coach Pitino has no plans to step down and he absolutely didn't know about the allegations."

Why was this nonsense released "via school" rather than right from the horse's ***' mouth? Starting to look like the "administration" is tightening the ball gag on the AD and coach in light of all of this coming to the surface. Jurich has never met a mic he didnt like, odd that the "school" would speak for him.

If I was UL I would want to clean house and just start with a clean slate. Pitino and Jurich would have to go, I don't care how many times they say they didn't know anything. These are the people running your athletic dept. What mother is going send their child to UL for a visit? UL had a hard enough time recruiting, but with this mess over their head they're screwed.

I live in Lou and I know how the media is towards all things UL, but this is national news. I don't think you can keep deflecting it. They can try, but eventually they will get caught up on their backtracking and deflecting and someone with no loyalty to UL will grill them.

You guys are being too hard on poor Pitino. How was he to know his on-campus basketball dorm named after his brother in law was being used as a strip club and brothel?

He's the real victim in all this.

Her interview right now on Dan Lebatard is fascinating for at least two key reasons:

(1) It takes some serious balls for someone like her to do a live interview with a guy like Lebetard. That says several things. She is confident. She is likely telling the truth. Her team is very confident in her and in her story. That spells trouble for Louisville.

(2) She handles herself very well given her background and she is very consistent. I listened to every response carefully and she did not once contradict herself or contradict prior statements or the book. She also did not embellish. I am not sure I could come close to handling the interview like she is.

As I posted on the other thread...Coach Mike Balado just implicated on the Lebatard show by Katina. Gotta be "Coach Mike" right?

What would you do with the Pitino Banner?

I think the safest thing to do is just take it down quietly with no official comment from the University.

I think a funnier thing to do would be to remove it during a pre-game ceremony on December 26th.

To me, this all comes down to the question, where did the money come from. These "ladies" obviously did not work for free and McGee did not make the kind of money to pay for all of this out of his own pocket. Someone else had to be bankrolling McGee. Who is this someone else? It seems like hardly anyone is talking about this!!

I just hope Jurich burns in this, out of all the people involved at UL I think he is the worst.

This. The nation is starting to realize what those of us who live in Louisville (and BBN as a whole) already realize.... this athletic department is a complete cesspool. But what I really hope the national media, especially those looking to make a name for themselves, realizes is that Tom Jurich is the ringmaster of this crime syndicate and he is the one who has the most to lose by everything crumbling around him. He will do ALL he can to protect himself yet he only has a limited amount of people he can throw to the wolves. If he pisses enough people off, even those who have benefited from his shady dealings may turn on him. No matter what, people successful enough to be massive donors to UL don't like having their name continually drug through the mud. Someone he thinks he can trust will turn on him or a media member who isn't afraid of his bird-tooth-covered iron fist will dig enough to find pay dirt. At least I can hope....

Now Carter is saying it's "impossible" Pitino didn't know. He's really laying into them.

It's not impossible, but given these new revelations he'd have to have been asleep at the wheel not to have had an inkling. Is this realistic? He's a high energy control freak HOF coach, and you don't get typically get there by being asleep at the wheel.

It's funny on the UofL forums there are people who are actually trying to say "things don't add up" because some of the dollar figures don't make sense.
