Well, apparently ESPN's investigative journalism wing (Outside The Lines) is atleast looking into all of this now. MJ will be appearing on the program today at 1:30pm (ESPN2). So, that tells me they will probably be devoting at least one show to it.
But, where is Forde? He broke this story or at least took the lead on breaking it and hasn't been heard from since. Why the silence?
Has this Katina Powell "lawyered up" too? No real comments publicly from her. How 'bout a presser with her, the author and their attorney? That would be a hoot!

Forde just did a podcast with Wetzel and he is discussing possibility the banner comes down.

Can you link that here? I'm sure it's probably on Yahoo but, would be good if everyone could go directly to it. I very seriously doubt a banner is in jeopardy without a so-called "smoking gun". but, would still like to listen to what Forde and Wetzel are saying about it.
Plus, the simple fact that a subject like that is even being publicly discussed is awesome! As I said earlier, all of this is a gift that will keep on giving. I'm in no hurry for it to be resolved.

Ya know I'm still trying to grasp this whole thing. [roll]

I mean, here they are stereotyped for being a ghetto school and they end up using services from a trick whose ghetto meter is flashing off the charts. Reminds me of Luther Campbell straight out of Freaknik....

This whole thing man.... A gift that keeps on giving.

As someone who lives in Louisville, this is sweet sweet karma. I can't say how many times I have heard ul fans say "PayPal Cal" "keep those banners on Velcro." After holding out for so long that UK/Cal are dirty, this juicy story comes out that completely contradicts them. No longer can they say how did Cal not know what his players were doing.

Everything UL fans have screamed at Cal for can now be applied to their own coach.

To all the Louisville fans that say Pitino shouldn't be held responsible for any of this, then you no longer have a right to include Cal in the Camby or Rose fiasco's. It doesn't only go one way.

That Wetzel to Forde podcast is pretty amazing. Hearing Forde say some of the stuff he does on that should be sobering for UL fans. Those guys basically gave credence to everything their fans are denying. Lays a lot of responsibility at RP's feet. Plenty of laughs at UL's expense too. Golden!
Listen to it via Crankdatmustard's link or at the one linked below.

Really? Do share some of the "stuff" he said. I can't listen while at work nor do I have time to waste on Pat Forde. Highlights or sorry, I just can't believe you.

Unfortunately, I think the smoking gun evidence was left out of the book because the woman is leaving the door open for a payoff.

Plus, it probably wdn't take much threats of prosecution/intimidation to convince her she'd made this all up.

I think this will all eventually be covered up.

Well, I don't have time to waste on deniers of UL's hooker-gate and you won't believe what a UK fan posts anyway. You've got two links to choose from and they will work after you get off work a McDonald's so, you can either listen to them then or GFY. Your choice.

The bigger question is does their slimy administration care. Would jurixh do anything to pitino? Would Ramsey do anything to either of them? I doubt it. Will their big time boosters care? Probably not..the whole place is filth.

Everyone knows that Ramsey is Jurich's puppet. Jurich just keeps Ramsey around as the "front" man....that is why Jurich has to have the Escort U foundation (formerly the UL Foundation) pay Ramsey so much money.....so he won't spill the beans on the Athletic program.....it is becoming more clear all the time!

And the fact that nobody -- neither Jurich nor Pitino -- so much as suggested she's lying suggests they're probably still hoping for the best but mostly preparing for the worst. Coaches usually deny the initial allegations and only acknowledge issues later, if they're absolutely caught and they absolutely must, you know? They never believe what they're hearing in the beginning. They dismiss or discount and trust they'll be cleared.

But, again, Pitino did nothing of the sort.

And he went way out of his way to make it clear he was doing nothing of the sort.

I honestly don't think Pitino was directly involved.

I do believe that he knew it was possible for that sort of thing to happen but he left it at the discretion of McGee.

I can imagine Pitino is fuming in private over McGee being so careless but has to put on a calm front for the media and fans while they attempt to make this go away behind the scenes.

Pitino is the ultra micro-manager, that is well documented. There is NOOOOOOOO way he "left it at the discretion of McGee".

Rick knew. Or, none of what this Powell woman says is true. I am going with the former.

From an IU insider on the UL rivals board:

Louisville Fans.........I am an IU Alum with some insight to this. This story has absolutely 100% nothing to do with IU other than the owner of the publishing company went to IU for law school. He asked for an introduction without telling the IU AD department why. IU had no idea why when passing on a name and a contact. IU has no part of this, not part of this story. The man that owns the publishing company asked for an introduction. Once the introduction was given, he then told Louisville and IU why.

The man that owns the publishing company and has the IU LAW SCHOOL named for him didn't probe for this story. The story showed up on his desk and before saying "RUN WITH IT" he did his due diligence, hired the right people, vetted the story and asked for confirmation before it went to print.

I know this man very well, he is a very good man, very smart and does not need $$. He is a LAWYER that would not put himself or his business in jeopardy without doing the background and getting the facts.

Rick Pitino, Louisville and AD had no idea this was going on at all. This was one bad apple that did this for HS players. However, If it was under Pitino's watch, he is in trouble.

I think the World of Pitino as a coach and wish he was at IU, But he is in trouble here because it was under his watch.

This is nothing to do with IU.
