I can't think of too many occurrences the NCAA has faced when a title was considered directly in play during the period of offenses which deemed players ineligible. There may be some cases, I just can't think of any....other than UL and UNC. We'll see.

Usually, they are able to avoid that by simply defining the period under investigation in a way that conveniently leaves out the year a title was won. Example, Syracuse' bad conduct was deemed to have started in 2004, when they won a title on '03. Easy way to get out of the dilemma. It's harder to get there in the UofL case - by all accounts the parties started before 2013 and ended after 2013. So unless they can - very conveniently! - say that there were parties in 2010 thru 2012 and then no more until 2014 and none of the players who played in the 2013 season attended any of the parties.....it's hard to see how they simply leave 2013 out of the picture.

I don't have any doubt they'll figure out a way, and that the title will stand. Will be interesting to see how they get there.

Bumping but question: caught the end of Jerry Eaves show here in Louisville. They were ragging on the Pimp about making two players apologize, it sounded like for their part in the hooker scandal. What happened? When did this go down?

Well they were on him pretty hard because they said he hasn't apologized for anything and it's basically impossible he didn't hear anything about the parties at Katina Hall for four years!

I really like Jerry Eaves. He seems to tell it like it is.
