"He told the truth" Also known as: the 4 scariest words in the world to Pitino and UL fans right now. Now they can only hope and pray that this newfangled truth-telling thing doesn't catch on with other former recruits.

And, as an aside, interesting seeing Jaquan Lyle's name back. I remember back when he was a big name everyone was after, but then he became one of those "question mark" recruits teams didn't know if they should still be after, then he sorta disappeared for awhile, and apparently he's now resurfaced at Ohio State. Hell, maybe I'll even be rooting for him now for honestly ratting out UL.

While true, the UNC is favored by the NCAA. Also, the scale of their decades-long scandal is still being revealed and investigated if you want to take a more positive look at it.

Louisville doesn't enjoy such a status with the NCAA, and the NCAA doesn't take kindly to sex scandals. Also, this is being exposed by players who have nothing to gain or lose from this. Lyle/Blakeney could go on about their lives and say nothing. This isn't the same as former UNC employees/players with a possible axe to grind.
Indeed. The NCAA doesn't care about protecting some commuter college on Floyd Street. Heck taking Louisville down actually helps North Carolina rebuild. You've never heard anyone say "People should conduct their program the Louisville way"

Cady - She will eventually talk to the NCAA.

MJ - She won't avoid the NCAA?

Cady - I have no reason to believe she will avoid them, but right now is not the best time due to the atmosphere. Says some people are (paraphrasing) in too deep of denial that such a thing would happen.

This was what I alluded to the other day - the apprehension that she may simply refuse to cooperate with the NCAA. "Now isn't the best time" doesn't make me feel better about that. If she is getting death threats, and I have no doubt that's likely, it's entirely possible she wasn't prepared for the way this blew up, wasn't prepared for the level of animosity no doubt coming her way - she may in the end just want to avoid all of it, and not talk with the NCAA.

Of course, if others, like Lyle, spill the beans, it may not matter what she does....

Blakeney is screwed as well. Lying to the NCAA doesn't go over well with those guys.

Cards are toast.

I doubt anything more than a few games will happen to Blakeney. I would be surprised if that happens. As for UL, wowsers! The ACC should be calls the Atlantic Cheaters Conference.

Louisville fans are going to say this will only amount to impermissible benefits to a recruit. They're wrong. Lyle confirming this means that this was happening with Cardinal players as well (Chane, MEGA, etc). That's ongoing impermissible benefits affecting the eligibility of those players. I.e., if the NCAA determines that this was ongoing with Louisville players on the court, then suddenly Louisville was fielding ineligible players. That means vacated wins, boys and girls.

Why is Blakeney screwed? No one has any clue what he's said to the NCAA, which very well could be exactly what Lyle told them.

Yep. Blakeney may have confirmed the same things. If the NCAA determines this was ongoing, not just with recruits but actual Louisville players, then Louisville could be told their players were ineligible. That means vacated wins IF the NCAA goes there.

They're still over at Scout denying this means anything. They're a lost cause and it won't be until Louisville cops to this and/or the NCAA hands them a notice of allegations that they'll believe something untoward happened.

Not sure why this story would need any confirmation. It is louisvile. That means the story is obviously true.

Now Blakeney better change his tune or he could get hammered for lying to the NCAA.

This is gonna send shock waves everywhere.
Rest assured Johnny Jones has sat him down and instructed him to do just that among several other tips of how his recruiting went.

Breaking News..... I am hearing that UofL was tipped off before the story was released on CBS Sports. They started laying off the Bouncers at the Minardi Little Brothel and Gentlemen's Club earlier this morning. Very sad.
