Just now on WHAS 11 news.
Tom Wine, commonwealth attorney:
"the allegations of criminal activity contained in this book cause grave concern to me and this community."
His office is communicating with University Police as well as LMPD Crimes Against Children Unit.
"if my office receives credible evidence of sexual abuse or other criminal activity involving minor children, we will vigorously prosecute those responsible for those crimes."
Former prosecutor says if the girls were minors at the time, Katina could be charged with "human trafficking" which is a class B felony in KY.
Said the admissions in the book are not enough to convict. Will need more evidence but the information in the book can be used against her.
No mention of any negativity towards ul, McGee's name never came up.

Another aspect of this is the "lack of institutional control" issue. Where was the UL compliance department in all of this? I'm surprised they don't have a compliance dept staffer working at the BBall dorm checking ID's. They also have to have video from security cameras at the BBall dorm. This is going to involve more than just Ricky Three Stacks.....

Part of me thinks that this was put in to place by Louisville to try and compete with UK in recruiting. Cal has been here 6 years and after a couple of years of seeing Cal get everyone he wanted and some kids UL wanted I think Pitino had to raise the bar during recruiting visits. Now that will probably never come out but you do have to wonder.

What college or high school star athlete needs assistance finding female companions?
What high school kid doesn't use social media to brag about aberrant behavior at UofL or any other place? That's how all of those cradle-robbing teachers are discovered. There have been zero social media references by recruits or student athletes related to misdeeds at Minardi Hall.
And how many people keep sporadic logged entries over 4 years yet they're uniformly lined with the exact same handwriting size as though they were all written at once with the same writing implement? Just asking.

Their is no way somebody co-authors a book without due diligence when the co-author knows of the legal and monetary resources of the accused. UL is toast. the only question is what will be their punishment. If I was UL I would pay McGee to take all of the blame and maybe that would mitigate the NCAA sanctions to at least be manageable.

I want to believe this scandal will bring UofL to it's knees (so to speak) but, I know how the world works. Money can make a lot of problems go away. Unfortunately, thanks to certain high level friends in lofty positions in Louisville, Frankfort, etc. that school has LOTS of money.
Sure, they may take a beating in the press and in some of the media's eyes. But, I seriously doubt any banners are coming down and I'll have to see it to believe Ricky Pimptino loses his job over this. He may get a few games suspension and UL may even lose some scholarships but, I think that's as far as it goes. They're greasy, slimy and have the deep pockets necessary to pull their chestnuts out of the fire.
However, the next 6 month to a year are going to be so much fun!
