Let the Pitino death watch officially begin.

The cards will begin to fall very quickly now. Jurich MUST do to Pitino what UMKC did to McGee, put on unpaid leave...until the investigation concludes. It is also possible that Pitino feels so much guilt over this that he steps down.

Wow....this is so good that I cannot wait for the movie to come out.

What makes this crazy story so compelling is its sticking potential. Most sex scandals--say involving a politician and a mistress--are more about betrayal of public trust and the possible breakdown of a marriage. The consequences are rarely legal because there is nothing illegal about having an affair, except for that it may influence rulings in a divorce settlement, seeing as how it violates a relational contract of sorts. They are in the news for awhile and then the public's attention moves elsewhere.

The Louisville Basketball Sex Scandal goes beyond the merely shameful and embarrassing and encompasses elements of illegality, including potential statutory rape and several other violations already mentioned in this thread. Further, if the NCAA finds reasonable evidence to support even some of the claims made in the book, there is no way they cannot act. The public's attention will stoke the story and compel the NCAA to move--if for no other reason than to manage the PR nightmare that would come if they did nothing.

One final point: The Louisville fans claiming this to be unsubstantiated or hearsay would not appear to understand the meaning/implications of this term. The allegations made in the book are not hearsay so much as they are potential testimony with verifiable witnesses also willing to testify. Further, the NCAA (or a jury for that matter) does not need a smoking gun. They just need compelling plausibility or "reasonable certainty." As a psychologist, for example, I know that there is no way that a mental health professional can attest with 100% certainty to the sanity or insanity of a defendant, or to the suicide potential of a patient. NOBODY can ever prove something to be true with 100% certainty in a legal setting nor perfectly predict something that will happen. Card fans that keep referencing "proof" are failing to see this.
witnesses don't hurt the process. and we have at least five already. the employee/gm, a customer, an insider, and two "onlookers". they could reenact the whole damn thing from the plaintiff's desk lol. as coverage picks up, i think more will come forward. it's not a hope but rather an assumption that ul is really screwed here.

I keep delivering the same message to the Cardinal fans I work with, but they are in total denial. Follow the money. This has just begun. It did not begin and end with Andre McGee, and these "benefits" were not the only ones received by U of L players. The thing that is scaring the hell out of their rational supporters is the stupidity of the participants. If they left such a perfect paper trail on this then the NCAA will have easy pickings when they start looking into other areas. Also, consider what a grand jury could do as far as underage females used in the commission of prostitution. This is going to go from idiotic to ugly.

should of had the "clean white girls". The white girls are easily intimidated with a few beatings.

P.s. In case some one has a coronary over this . I'm joking. You should never beat anyone willing to touch your private places

Lyle was 17 on that visit in question,, getting a dance from a chic that was also under 18.. So UL being adults,, were paying an underage hooker to dance with an underaged recruit.. Yea that should go over really well..

North Carolina's 2005 NCAA championship is FAR, FAR more tainted than any other in history. Every player on that starting team owes his eligibility to cheating while attending the university, that was at least implicitly sanctioned by the athletic department.

As much as I loathe Louisville, if their banner comes down and UNC's stay up, it'll be a disgrace.

Age of consent in the state of Kentucky is 16.

“The NCAA already knows the answers to every question they are going to ask,” a source told SNY.tv. “[Lyle] had to tell them or he was going to get hit with the amateurism issue on benefits.”

This stuff is too good to be true! I mean, I'm freaking mind blown and have no idea where to start!

Anyway, as far as blakeney "denying" the allegations the the NCAA, which I have not idea how anyone would know that, I bet he's nervous as he can be about this.

LSU ended up with the best class in many many years for them and everyone is wondering why. Well, as far as the NCAA goes, this now could be a "kill two birds with one stone" deal now that they're at LSU sniffing around. Why not ask him about his trips to LSU as well. So, I bet he won't say anything incriminating and lying may be his only hope.

Anyway, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Who cheats now card fans?!?! Has cal been investigated at UK? Don't think he has! :boxing::cool2:[roll]

I found this site from 2011 re: vacated championships: (USC football in '04 the most publicized)...Note they kept their AP title, but lost the BCS title of that year.

https://sportsdelve.wordpress.com/2011/06/07/vacated-ncaa-national-championships/

The NCAA needs to prioritize these issues; they need to let Louisville work things out before they impose any opinion, because they should be putting all resources into cleaning up the UNC scandal.
Emmert should not ignore getting involved; he needs to show all the member institutions that sports-related cheating is unacceptable and act upon the LOIC findings.

UNC's banner in '05, plus '09 should not stay up.

Oh man this is going to be excellent theatre over the next few months while this plays out. I a guessing every UK fan will be banned from the UL site with in a day.

It's more fun to just read the threads, and watch the misery unfold, without comment. [thumb2]

Typically the NCAA is pretty tight lipped about their investigations. I have to think Lyles statements were leaked in an effort to spurn others into talking. Basically a sign that it's ok to come forward with info and if you're honest your eligibility won't be jeapodized. I don't think we will see too many more statements leaked like this one was.
