So USC still has their 04 BCS national title?
Nope, BCS title was stripped and no one represents that year. This is the Tommy Tuberville rant where he said they should be champs.
USC kept their AP title of '04. It was decided 7 years after the fact.

UNC should be very worried especially if you read what Florida State '07 sports was found guilty of.......one online music course for 61 athletes impacted several sports. It also cost Bowden some wins.

Why the hell would Lyles lie? The only way he gets in trouble with the ncaa is if he lies and they find out about it. He told the truth.

I am wondering how long its going to take for Louisville's one 5 star recruit to back out of his commitment. Why would a kid like that want to go to a school on probation?

Of course he told the truth. Rhodes won't concede it happened until Pitino goes on TV and says it happened. I am seeing some U of L fans now calling for Pitino to step down.

This whole thing will turn out to be all lies with no ramifications or end up with an epic ending. For some reason I think this whole story has other information missing that might even be bigger than the original story.

I think Andre might not be the only culprit in this entire story. It will be very interesting to see if anyone comes forward. That's why I think nothing will happen because getting anyone to talk will be near impossible. Players are too concerned with that image, future relationships, etc. But what do I know? I just make big stickers for a living.

I would like to buy some stickers from you if you have any extras.

Someone on another site wondered if the NCAA may turn the whole thing over to the cops and lawyers and say "we have no teeth here. The matter belongs to the courts."

Kind of like how the NCAA approached the Penn State case? /sarcasm

But seriously to answer your question one could use impermissible benefits or lack of institutional control. Just depends on how the NCAA would want to proceed.

Although I do agree that it would be a travesty if the NCAA takes U of L's title away while giving UNC a pass, because at least in terms of eligibility of players (which is squarely in the NCAA's domain) what UNC did was much worse IMO.

Do you mean to paraphrase Jerry Tarkanian...The NCAA is so mad at North Carolina they're going to give University of Louisville another year of probation ?

UNC has the same dilemma; their 1 5 star (Felton '17) is questioning his decision as we speak.

just went to check the linebeards...the latest theory they are clinging too is that Lyle was coerced into lying to the NCAA, so he would not be in trouble.
I kid you not

Cliff Hagan got fired at UK for way less than this UL stuff. Why aren't folks talking about Jurich, not just Pitino.

I honestly do not want anything bad to happen to anyone. Including Jurich and Pitino, it is just an honest question. I wonder how many AD's could survive this? My gut feeling is very few.

Apparently there are people close to Pitino telling him that he should step down now.
Sanctions + Pitino stepping down = nightmare for Louisville fans

Their Scout board is absolutely hilarious right now. They still continue to deny everything, and anyone who says otherwise is a UK loving troll.

It's a real world illustration of this.

I'm borrowing this [laughing]

I have to say, I came back to these message boards after being away for a couple of years just for this story (to find that they'd finally upgraded and my once-banned account was now free). Between this thread and GYERO, this has been a lot of fun so far.

If any of the escorts were under age it just makes them look even worse, it's not like they'll say oh some were underage so now we don't have a case[eyeroll]

Louisville – The City of Louisville will sue in district court to force the University of Louisville to change its name to something else entirely. The U of L athletics department proudly advertises itself as The Sexiest Athletics Department in America, but with the most recent sex scandal at U of L it was the final straw for the City.

Attorneys for the city said, “It’s just too much to take. The other cities like Indy, Cincy and Nashville are all snickering when they hear the name “Louisville” mentioned. The incident is bringing shame down on us all. “

Hopefully making U of L change its name will in time allow the City of Louisville to minimize the damage of the jokes of late night comedians. Last night for example, Jimmy Kimmel asked, “what do you call a beautiful girl in Louisville….I dunno but she is certainly not one of their prostitutes.”

So the city, acting quickly, will file in district court to force U of L to remove Louisville from its name. When asked what they will do if they lose the lawsuit, the city attorney just shook his head. “I would suggest that they change their name to Morehead….”

The NCAA is the most crooked, one-sided, hypocritical organization as there ever has been. Choosing to turn a blind eye on rules violations with one program, while choosing to punish another for a less egregious violation is par for the course with them. Case in point, the 2008 National Championship game. They vacate Memphis' season based on a report that Derrick Rose had had someone else take his SAT for him. Yet, they choose NOT to punish Kansas when it was obvious that Darrell Arthur should've been ruled ineligible because someone altered grades for him in high school. Shouldn't this have gotten Kansas' national championship banner taken down since it is very similar to the situation with Rose and Memphis??? Nope because the NCAA does whatever and persecutes whomever the f$@k they want without regard to being fair and impartial. If Memphis had won, I still believe that they would've had their title vacated and Kansas still would've emerged unscathed.

That brings me to UNC and UL. Should they have banners taken down? Yep in UNC's case and probably in UL's case (if the allegations turn out to be true about Harrell), but will they be taken down? NOPE! Because the NCAA doesn't have an agenda against those programs. If either of these incidents happened at UK, you can bet your arse that not only would it be national news, but the NCAA would've already dropped the hammer on UK because of it.

My guess is that nothing ever happens to UNC over their cheating scandal and that UL gets away with a slap on the wrist - a self-imposed post season ban and lose a couple of schollies for a couple of years.

New theory
Someone paid McGee a lot of $$ to do this to UL.That’s the only thing that makes sense. And all we have left.

it was me . . . I gave him 50 dollars, a 40 oz. and a lap dance. worth it every bit.
