Don't think I agree. A 2 time NC, HOF coach has trouble recruiting there - before this mess. And if Pitino is gone because of this mess, I think that same mess will prevent them from getting anyone of real value right now.Very well stated and I agree with you. BUT....Jurich has made a lot of people a lot of money. They can find another men's basketball coach. And he'll have no problem recruiting once the sanctions are over. They'll get a guy like the guy at Wichita and be right back in business. Replacing Jurich, on the other hand, (and I'm speaking in terms of performance from all the programs, not morals) is a much tougher deal. They're already worried he's going to Texas.
well maybe not every school. at iu for instance there are no escorts. just clappy with cups of apple juice and animal crackers.

I see what you did there. Have to admit, made me laugh...Ramsey, Jurich and Pitino are all gone. The Board of Trustees have to clean house to restore respectability and integrity to the Institution. This has too many implications to the revenue streams to UL for the three to survive.
Still don't agree. K is recruiting great, Williams was fine before the scandal started taking its toll. UL just isn't a draw on its own, in my opinion. But I do agree, to have a chance they'll have to get lucky with a young, cocky and brash coach, much like we dd with Pitino. But Pitino had the the best facilities in the country and was recruiting kids to resurrect the bluest of blue blood programs during probation over a relatively insignificant money violation, which wasn't even proven. That is a much easier situation to deal with than what a Pitino replacement would face, if he is even gone.Pitino is a 63-year old screamer. Replace him with a 45-year old up-and-comer and you'll see recruiting trend way upward. Recruiting is what does in all the old guys. Recruits think "if you don't have the energy for me, why should I put out all my energy for you".
Serious question....
With Cal being only 60 miles down the road, will that deter some coaches?
The fans will expect to keep up with UK, I think he definitely adds pressure to that job.
No way I see a Greg Marshall take a job with that unnecessary pressure.
I think Cronin is a good answer and probably the biggest name they could get.
Any assistant or non Power 5 coach would not be surprising, Archie Miller?
Of course UL fans believe they can get Phil Jackson or Coach K.

Louisville Gets One-Year Ban From Postseason Play
September 23, 1998| From Staff and Wire Reports
The NCAA banned the Louisville men's basketball team from postseason play for a year Tuesday and put the school on three years' probation because of rule violations.
The two violations in the men's basketball and seven in women's volleyball programs involved extra benefits, recruiting, financial aid, institutional control and ethical conduct.
The Division I Committee on Infractions handed down other penalties as well, among them a reduction of scholarships in both sports.
The basketball program's postseason ban also will include this season's Conference USA tournament.
"We had nearly 100% agreement with the NCAA enforcement staff on all facts of the case," said John Shumaker, university president. "The NCAA's response has been tough but the sanctions are fair and I respect their conclusions."
The allegations came to light early last year and, after an investigation that produced hundreds of pages of testimony, the NCAA in April issued a formal letter of inquiry into both programs.
The university acknowledged seven of the volleyball infractions involving recruiting violations and rules prohibiting extra benefits for athletes or their families. It disagreed with the two other allegations, that it did not sufficiently educate volleyball Coach Leonid Yelin about NCAA rules and that then-assistant basketball coach Scooter McCray obtained a discounted hotel rate for the father of forward Nate Johnson.
Louisville was put on probation for two years in 1996 after an investigation unearthed questions about former basketball player Samaki Walker's use of two cars in 1995.
Because the new violation involving the basketball program occurred within five years of the starting date of the previous penalties, the committee applied its repeat-violator provisions to the case.
"Certainly, I'm deeply disappointed and saddened by the decision," Coach Denny Crum said in a statement. "Regardless of the outcome of the decision, I am ultimately responsible for our basketball program and I feel bad that it has had such a negative effect on our program and this university."

Nope...I used to live in louisville, it's not a bad town, but yes it's a doughnut city...meaning everyone lives around dtown and it's significantly behind all the other regional cities as far as growth especially in the dtown area. Thats what im spe ifically talking about is the dtown. What ppl in louisville like to disguise as "keep lville weird"...it's really no more progressive than lexington as it doesn't have more to offer considering the size difference and that lex is a landlocked college town. As far as Humana, Aetna wants your medicare business in which you scammed the majority of seniors in KY in to forfeiting their traditional medicare to take your advantage plans that covers nothing. No reason to make personal comments because your butthurt. Aetna will probably divest humana in the coming years keeping what they want. I really hope for everyones sake no one loses their job, but some may. That's a reality of it.You need to separate U of L from Louisville. I live in Louisville and it's a great town and beats the hell out of Lexington as a city to live in and travel to. Also there are at least 6000 or so UK fans and alumni that work for Humana in Louisville like I do. We aren't losing our jobs and Humana isn't going anywhere after the acquisition and if it was this would be about the least funny statement on Earth to me. Our state has enough blight out in Eastern KY we don't need the flagship city and the vast majority of the tax base to have problems because the largest corporation in KY leaves town. Your comment let's me know you don't understand life, get a clue.
No chance. These native Kentuckians and former UK greats would consider taking the U of L job like selling their souls to the Devil.John Pelphrey or Travis Ford.
How'd that work out last March?Huggins, just so they could beat Calipari.

Are you old enough to remember when two of Denny's players were rounded up by the police at around 2AM for doing something they shouldn't have been doing? The cops had them and had their ID's and the two of them bolted. The cops naturally rounded them up again the next day and said they couldn't believe they ran because everyone knew who they were.
The next day, when Crum was interviewed about deal, he was asked if the players had violated curfew by being out that late on a weeknight. Crum replied, "there is no curfew, these guys are old enough to know when they should be in bed." I remember making fun of that statement to some of my ul friends at the time. I don't believe he could have made a more ignorant statement or have given a better glimpse into the inner workings of that anything goes cesspool he created.
