Compared to paying for Anthony Davis and faking classes for decades, not to mention faking Algebra 3, yeah I'd say that any fair assessment would conclude that paying a few hundred here or there for DANCE shows over the course of four years is pretty minir.
In fact, I'd call it shamefully cheap and bush league. If you are going to cheat, then CHEAT. Because if you get caught, then the results are the same anyway.

Look what's going on down the road. Look at a $100,000.00 necklace and fake courses. Won'to name schools. This is BS. This is a very minor infraction in other schools even in our worst case scenario. Yet we want to fire our coach and impose a post season ban on ourselves before any investigation? Is our self esteem that low? Hell no, time to fight back for once.

I personally don't mind having a second thread. I don't like wading through that other one.

I haven't read the book so I appreciate the info. It sounds like the entire environment surrounding the basketball program had become a recruit and win at all costs.

And those who think Pitino was completely ignorant of this are being naive. This is not a rogue booster off campus providing extra benefits, this was clearly their policy, especially when the top recruits were coming to town. The head coach is one of the primary recruiters and should have knowledge of the recruit's whereabouts and activities when on campus. Pitino is toast.

Lecter, check out this link, which takes you to the org chart for the Louisville Foundation:

Any names stand out? If you look toward the top, under Dr. Pinto's name, you see Stites and Harbison. They are part of the family. Hiring your own lawyers to do the investigating is anything but "independent."

Took me, literally, 3 minutes to find that. You think anyone will mention it in the local press?

So what's the over under of McGee writing a tell all book if he does get thrown to the wolves as expected? If Katina has all this proof, I wonder what additional info he could provide in crushing lil' brothel?

Okay, I'm wondering whether UofL could sue the writers/publishers of the book if they are proven to be liars? If so, that would add credence to the story. Nobody wants to get sued.
You can sue anyone for anything, just remember when you do, they can fight back. Extremely unlikely UL or anyone involved would want to keep this in the media.

Their scout board met have special membership rules. I assume you either fail an idiots test or you have to be 14 or under. Really, I can only read a couple of posts there without getting nauseated by their juvenile stupidity.

I saw you trying on the rivals site. Lost cause.
Yep, but the few times I post on anyone else's site, I try to be cordial at least. You can't really use logic with some people. Oh well, they'll find out the hard way I guess.

Isn't the UL Foundation the group that has been accused of funneling millions of dollars in deferred compensation to Ramsey and other top administrators at UL? They are a supposedly an independent organization who should have no involvement in the scandal unless they were providing money to McGee.

It's been a few days since any news has broken. There may be additional stories this coming week. Like, what did Blakeney say to the NCAA investigators? Where is McGee and why has Forde been so quiet after breaking the story?
A huge coup for someone like MJ would be to get an on-air interview with Katina Powell. How EPIC would that be????
I have to believe there are also other reporters out there who are far more professional and not in Jurich's pocket, that are doing their own work on this story.

That's the one.
Plus, let's not forget about the investigation into the Yum Center.
The dominos are setup and ready to fall. Just need a little nudge.

According to the org chart, Ramsey is president of the UL Foundation. That just doesn't seem right.......

remember when jennifer was the biggest actress in the world?

then she went and did this and i swear it seems like she just disappeared. just doesn't seem as hot as she used to. she doesn't seem to be as good of an actress. be honest, going to a ul game in ul gear has ruined her career... or greatly damaged it. of course terry meiner looking like a sexual predator behind her might have ruined that game for me... dude, your 60.

Didn't realize there are now TWO former players confirming the story????

He can't control former recruits JaQuan Lyle (now at Ohio State) and Antonio Blakeney (now at LSU), both of whom have been put in the same spot Ohio State's Aaron Craft was once placed, i.e., a spot where they're essentially granted immunity by the NCAA as long as they tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about a visit of interest. And he can't control Katina Powell, the madam with the stories. And he can't control Dick Cady, the Pulitzer Prize winner who investigated Powell's allegations before putting his name on the book, which immediately gave it credibility that might not have existed otherwise. And Pitino clearly can't control all of his former players -- the ones who were allegedly involved in parties featuring dancers supplied by ex-Louisville staff member Andre McGee -- because, again, at least two have already talked to different media outlets.

I heard someone (don't know who) on the Underdogs the other day say that he was trying to track down Powell for comment, and that everyone he talked to said that Powell and her family were hiding out.

JLaw is the highest paid female actress, and is in an upcoming Spielberg film. Fail.
be honest dude. jlaw was on the tv for something about every day the last couple years. oddly, the last 6 months she has seemed to slow down. it happens to all actresses. ashley slowed down after about 20 years near the top. jennifer seems to be slowing down about the time she embraced the university that objectifies, belittles, and uses women. she's got plenty of movies lined up... movies that were lined up before she donned the scarlet red of shame. want to bet her PR people dont let her near ul with a 10ft poll this year?

It just occurred to me that none of the gaggle of clowns in charge at Uavel honestly believe they did anything wrong. This is the only explanation for their ability to keep a straight face and deny any wrongdoing. When you are condescending narcissists devoid of shame and integrity, it's easy.

Don't know why it took me so long to realize this. I must be tired.

The single most telling fact in all of this is that UofL hasn't filled a defamation or libel suit against anyone associated with this case. That could mean one of two things. UofL knows it would lose such a case or they are afraid of what else might come to light in the discovery phase of what would be a highly scrutinized public case. Remember Pitino-Sypher?

So, what comes next? A half-assed admission of some wrong-doing to appease the NCAA? Or, do they hold fast and hope to weather the storm as additional testimony by former players and recruits leaks out?
