9:38 on October 11th and a substantial portion of their fans still think that this is fake. This would be a great case study if any psychologists are interested in applying for grant money.
Yes,but it would fall under Mentally Disabled instead of Psychosis

It's only prostitution....

LoaluvlLu

"For Pete's sake, men can now marry men. Do we really think men having sex with women is going to bring down the pillars of civilization? I personally know a Div. 1 player who was recruited via prostitute way back in 1968. The "news" here is that we've actually got a Ho to write about it.

This isn't gambling on games or point shaving, this isn't money pay-offs to recruits or their families, this isn't grade or eligibility fraud.

This is the oldest profession and, while stupid, is not going to 'cause anyone who's been around the block to blush. Anyway, one of the hallmarks of being a basketball player at a school such as UofL is that you don't have even try to find a sexual liaison, and you certainly don't have to pay for it.

I refuse to believe that a two-bit Hoosier ***** can bring down one of the few things I so thoroughly enjoy in this world."
their rationalizations have no boundries.
the issue isn't whether prostitution is right or wrong, it's about a university providing impermissable benefits to basketball recruits.

For the first 20-30 pages this thread provided some really good information regarding the UL prostitute scandal. Now it's becoming little more than pictures of boobs, fat women and individuals spouting off about how many pages or views it's likely to get. IMO, if I'm a fan of some other school looking for real information on the scandal, I'd leave thinking UK fans are no better than UL fans.

Compare it to what the NC State fans have assembled about UNC's issues---which is a great summary of anything relevant to the scandal. (And some damn good detective work too.)

A suggestion to the Mods, nix the crap in this thread and keep the real content. And if someone wants to make an ongoing carnival of jokes about the UL scandal, start another thread.

There is a house in Louisville
They call Minardi Hall
And it's been the ruin of many a recruit
And God we know them all

The last article I read by Billy Reed was one he did on Mark Coury being run off from UK after being a starter. It was filled with inaccuracies and misinformation. I wrote him and explained why the article was so far off base and never received a reply.

I'm not sure Reed is even worthy of a thread discussing him unless it is to educate the newbies.

What's the difference between Rick Pitino and Katina Powell?

One screws over U of L players and jeopardizes their careers, the other is Katina Powell.

When I first moved to Louisville, I worked for an old white shoe firm. The managing partner then was, naturally, an old guy, had been around forever, real captain of industry type. Big Cards fan, he was the first I heard use the term "bluebellies" to talk derisively about UK. But I remember he told me once that the UK board of trustees was legit, filled with serious and competent people who took that responsibility seriously. By contrast, the uofl board was comprised of lightweights, with unserious and frivolous people.

I thought of that today when I read the Tim Sullivan piece in the CJ today, where he interviews the chair of the Louisville board:

"When asked about University President James Ramsey's statement that expressed confidence in Jurich but made no mention of Pitino, Benz said he would not read much into it, citing the school's chain-of-command and the administration's desire to "avoid anything that would be harmful to the investigation."
"As a chairman of trustees, I'm only going to comment on our senior administrative staff," Benz said. "On a personal basis, I have nothing but confidence in our coaches."

There you have it. The chair of the board has nothing but confidence in Pitino and Petrino. Potemkin Villages all the way down.....
the old "vote of confidence." how many times have you heard bosses give that 'vote' to a coach or manager only to have the axe fall in the near future.

This is mainly happening because there haven't been any real developments for several days.

Once something new is reported, the thread will get serious again.

They've had their fair share of clowning around threads. You have to keep in mind that they've been nailing UNC's coffin shut for 5 years now. I suspect that more threads will be created when more evidence comes out.

A championship banner has never been stripped. I'm not sure the NCAA will in this case. We'll see.

TMZ story this morning on Terrence Williams: "I didn't need hookers to get laid because I'm ****ing Elvis Presley in Louisville"

Little Brother is adopted. I can't claim him any more.

Terrible advice, the mods, and those of us posting here, want to see everything in one thread.
This is a crazy scandal and it should stay right at the top of the page. More information is going to come out eventually and when it does you might want to be prepared for this to reach 200 pages. It's that juicy. Kinda like the boobs above.

My advice would be to start another thread specifically for the facts of the case specifically titled for that, since this one has already gone of the rails.

If any players are found by the NCAA to have been ineligible, then every game they played in must be forfeited. Pretty simple. Maybe the NCAA will rule that improprieties occurred but Pitino didn't know about it and it is therefore OK. Kinda like a Duke deal. I don't think ul is on par with Duke though. This is a good time for NCAA to flex their muscle and make a statement.

If they're found guilty, the banner will come down.
