I'm waiting for Masiello's name to get caught up in this. If someone knows something, its that little dude.
He's been dinged twice for his degree, and falsifying tickets.

If Pitino is off Miami every chance he gets. someone had to handle the details of the program.

Even if he didn't know, doubt it, he better have plenty documentation that he trained his assistant coaches on NCAA rules. The NCAA has said that if an assistant goes rogue and the coach has taken a hands off approach, the head coach is culpable for any misdeeds of the assistant coach.

Prediction- you're going to now see LOTS of people coming out of the woodwork to add to the dumpster fire burning in Louisville. MJ just had a guy call in who claimed to be a security guard for Pitino, etc. when they went to strip clubs in the 4th Street area. Don't know if he's legit but, we're going to start hearing more stuff like this from people who have seen things.
Rats abandoning the ship.

Ready made juicy story for the local media and it takes on outside guy from ESPN to break it. They should be ashamed.

Not surprisingly, Tim Sullivan takes a shot at UK just now. How do these lapdogs look themselves in the mirror?

What makes this so great is all the crap UK fans heard about whats gonna happen since Calipari got here..Just a matter of time they said..Fact is ..when you keep peeking over a fence to watch for things to happen you never see the septic tank flooding your own yard...

Couldn't agree more! This in actuality is a sickening situation, but it's hilarious that we've been the scapegoat for everything that is wrong with college sports since Cal has been here and yet other major programs like UNC, Syracuse, Ohio State, and now Louisville, have been caught up in embarrassing scandals while our guys have gone to class, made good grades, and done everything right off the court. Louisville deserves this. My question is, when the NCAA drops the hammer on them and they're relegated to the cellar of the ACC for the next decade, how many of their "fans" will jump ship and start cheering for another team?

NOT buying the "rogue" staffer. If that was the case, then why would a rogue Andre still be talking to Katina after he left for another gig? Gotta be more to the story in that regard. The "Coach Mike" allegation by Katina is pretty telling. This wasn't a rogue staffer.

No staff member is going to go rogue and spend $10,000 of their own money. Plus the parties were going on before and after McGee was there. Obviously, there is someone higher up the food chain who is behind it.

Strange to see
#Kentucky fans lecturing #Louisville about "win-at-all-costs" mentality. Pot, meet kettle.

Please. If UK athletics is going to these lengths to win games, then I will quit supporting them. No one wants their alma mater tied up in this filth.

People saying Pitino is done have not lived in Louisville. Every local media outlet here is covering for him. He will clean it up and take the part of the savior. Just the way it works here.

Real justice should be that Jurich and Pitino leave in disgrace. They were and are in charge. But that is a fairy tale. However, the program is going to get something bad.
I actually want him to stay there .
As long as he's there how many mothers of recruits will want their sons to visit .

Possible a booster outside of the food chain was behind it, but it seems likely people up the food chain had some knowledge.

Totally agree. But even putting that aside, assuming he would've paid out of his own pocket given the fact ULoL fans are saying $10k over 4 years isn't a lot...why would he still be going "rogue" after leaving for another job? It would have to be rogue stafferS. Which let's face it, throws the rogue idea out the window, since others would have known about it.

Who let Katina into the dorm the time after McGee set up a "date" from Kansas City?

That was the Blakeney visit wasn't it? Maybe that was the one that didn't take place in Minardi. I don't know. Regardless, why is he involved in this while employed elsewhere? Obviously he wasn't the only one.

Likely because he wanted Pitino's help down the road for his coaching career. Which implies he was at least expecting someone to put in a good word with Rick.

if Pitino knew...does McGee fall on the sword and accept a payout? or does he corroborate Katina's story? He's between a rock and a hard place, b/c ULoL could simply deny it and if McGee comes clean, he faces legal issues.

This would imply, then, that Pitino would in fact know McGee was putting in work to get recruits to come to ULoL.

Guys it's all been cleared up by Howie....and a UL guy has posted this all important point from Howie........

"And it relates to my question in another thread. He pointed out that this woman's first call to expose this stuff by her own admission was to the NCAA. Only when she was rebuffed by them did she seek out the publishing company.

You don't call the NCAA first if you are after money. This was possibly a personal vendetta towards Andre McGee but more likely this lowlife was financially backed from an outside entity to bring the Louisville basketball program down.

Think about it, she kept notes, text messages and other records the whole time while she apparrenly was being treated well? And being the good moral person with a conscience she just wanted to show that it is wrong how some programs provide hookers for recruits? Oh ok!

And finally her insistence that Rick Pitino knew about this is beyond bizarre. She and whoever is backing her knows that for the full effect to take place you have to mention Pitino. That may end up her undoing.

None of this will have much bearing on when the NCAA investigates this and we may still pay a price but the picture is becoming clearer."

Howie has come to the rescue for UL ....all is good.

OH and by the way Powell never insisted Rick knew, she said how could he not know.

It's funny on the UofL forums there are people who are actually trying to say "things don't add up" because some of the dollar figures don't make sense.

listen to this crock of ish from whhs of catsillusttated. Dude, wtf go over there and spread this nonsense? I don't even know where to begin to attack this, and I'm actually one who supports Ricks time HERE.

Whhs -
lol good point kyjeff. and I'm pretty sure ky has no interest in playing iu. if ky did renew no way would they go back to play at iu. would have to be arena stuff.

I'm going to say this some will believe some won't,but I'll be honest. did it piss me off when rp took the ul job? yes I was furious. rooted against the man every game. what made it worse was his attitude that it was just not a big deal so UK fans should just get over it. yes I wished he lost every game and would of gotten run out of this state because of his job performance.

but in no way am I taking any pleasure in what has happened off the court. I believe his wife is a good women and had already been through enough. I also believe rp is a good man. flawed like all men but human.

and to all of my UK faithful. you can take joy in the sypher crap and now this all you want. but at the end of the day try to remember what rp did for us and not to mention the mans name hangs in our rafters. so 20 years from now you can make fun of these horrible incidents and laugh, but just remember rp is and will always be a huge part of UK history also.

rp is a strong man. if he wasn't he would of walked away after the sypher thing. but rp does what he does best and buckle down hit it head on and won a championship with another final 4 thrown in since then. gotta admire the mans ability to move forward.

If Pitino didn't know, he deserves to be removed for not knowing. Isn't that why he hires other people?

If anyone here thinks Jurich would incriminate one of his revenue producing coaches, you don't know Jurich. The same guy who took Petrino back?

UNC** and Louisville**

The pride of the ACC.

How incredible would it be for them to both lose a title to scandal in the same year?

i think her story, with cred from the book, makes her side more believable. i highly doubt he takes money that'd make himself look like the most unethical person in the room. not saying he won't be offered. he would be majorly dumb to accept though. he probably wouldn't get to spend a dime anyway. he'd have to lawyer up. if he were sued by katina/witnesses, he'd have no case.

Saw that. I like Bilas as much as the next guy, but he's been an ACC homer about the UNCheat stuff, and the past stuff with Duke (Thomas, Maggette). And the men's bball program absolutely were named in the allegations. Not Williams, but basketball was. Don't know where he got that they weren't.
