Good God , after Tubby's last 2 years and that happening I wondered if we would ever return to the glory days but our AD had the stones to hire Cal and the rest is history.

UL fans are also using this "anonymous" term as an out to say it's just made up. They claim there's no credit to it if the players won't attach their names to the statement... Unless I'm missing something, wasn't the report that 5 players/recruits fessed up and then the OTL video went on to name the following 5?

- Montrezl Harrell
- JaQuan Lyle
- Antonio Blakeney
- Jordan Mickey
- Terry Rozier

Why are they acting like the confessions are anonymous? I know UL fans saw the OTL segment, so what am I missing?

As this situation at Lil Bro continues to unwind....I'd like to get the opinion of the legal gang as to the University's civil liability exposure...as it pertains to the underage recruits.

With a University staff member paying for illegal activity to be used in order to recruit the "minor" does that expose the University to civil damages if an angry parent decides to file suit against them.

It would seem that an official university recruiting visit where your son is illegally serviced in order to get his commitment to play....would expose the University to huge civil damages.

How realistic is this angle and the possibility of lawyers taking this approach to mine for a payday?

Five star shooting guard Antonio Blakeney has informed ESPN Recruiting Nation that he has decided to reopen his recruiting after committing to Louisville back on Sept. 4.

"I made a quick and emotional decision based on some of the wrong reasons," Blakeney said.

Guess who brought recruiting ace Mike Balado to Louisville? Lil Ricky.[laughing] He also just got a $386,000 contract extension last month. Is this the Coach Mike that Katrina is talking about in her book?

http://www.courier-journal.com/stor...finalizes-balado-padgett-extensions/72006278/

"Mike Balado (pronounced bah-LAW-doe) joined the University of Louisville men's basketball staff as an assistant coach in April 2013 after serving in a similar capacity at Florida International from 2012-13... He was an assistant under Richard Pitino, the son of UofL head coach Rick Pitino, who is now the head coach at Minnesota.

"Mike brings a wealth of experience in both the recruiting world and in coaching," said Pitino....

Prior to his year at FIU, Balado worked three seasons at High Point University (2009-12), where he assisted in all areas of the Panther basketball program with a heavy concentration on recruiting.

Very true. No matter what comes out from the national media/investigators/NCAA, the UL fanatics and local media (essentially a UL propaganda dept) will claim that Jurich is a god and Pitino is 100% innocent. These two can do no wrong in this city. I only hope that the investigation crosses over into some of the utterly shady financial dealings that go on between UL and other parties in this city (see the YUM Center and UL Shelby Campus land development deals) and somehow get Jurich in that manner.

All the dirty dealings at UL run as deep as Mitch McConnell the Kentucky Senator and Senate Majority Leader, crooked to the bone from the Yum Center deal to using hookers to entice recruits,UL is one Dirty Redbird program

Card board in full circle the wagons mode...not accepting any reasonable and logical discussion...

chalking everything up to a smear campaign by a uk grad and a woman scorned...
Yep, I tried to make a reasonable reply to one of those threads over there and it got deleted. I'm surprised I wasn't banned because of it. I did begin the post by saying the poster was "grasping at straws." But that's exactly what they're doing right now. And hey, I don't blame them for defending and deflecting, but it's getting to a point now where it just looks desperate and ridiculous. This story has been confirmed and corroborated in multiple ways, by former players and recruits who gain nothing by confirming these things. And now the wire transfer from McGee to Powell has been independently confirmed by OTL as well as the text messages being sent from McGee's phone. It's an avalanche of evidence. I gotta think that at this point I'd have to just cease with all the angry posts and just resign myself to the fact that this did happen and punishment will be coming. It's just a matter of time at this point. This thing is not going away. Everything that has come out has confirmed this woman's story and she has not been shown to be lying at any point as yet. That could happen, but at this point it looks very clear that at least some version of what she says in that book actually happened, and it seems there is no denying it.

But truthfully, some of these message board posters are very invested in their persona. This is their life in many ways. To lose face in this arena of their lives is a crushing blow, so they are holding on as long as they possibly can. I think some will continue with the same song and dance as before even after this is over, with their heads firmly planted in the sand. Just remember, UK is still the evil empire to them and Calipari is still the slimy coach, and UK is still the one cheating to get recruits. And after all, entertaining recruits with strippers and prostitutes is tame in today's world. It should just be a slap on the wrist.

You can't make this stuff up. Loved this little nugget. lol

At the moment the UofL appears to be caught in the perfect storm with a array of adversaries aligned against us.

As I recall a former Board of Trustees member said at least 15 years ago, "All major university athletics programs break the NCAA rules. The best cheaters just never get caught."

Based upon appearances, the combination of IU and UK booster hatred of the UofL along with substantial evidence of anti-UofL agenda with both the NCAA and the sports media juggernaut ESPN has created this perfect storm.

Combine these forces with one dupe (McGee) and one I'll-do-anything-for-the-right-paycheck prostitute and our adversaries might well succeed in stripping us of an dearly loved but damaged by personal life public failure HOF coach. We as UofL fans deserve better.

It is nauseating beyond words that the filthy empire built and maintained by cheating to the east in Lexghanistan enjoys all the support of the NCAA and ESPN in their foul endeavors, while we are beat down at every opportunity. The disparity in public portrayal and treatment makes the situation far far worse for those who must live with pUKe fans on a daily basis. THIS JUST SUCKS.
It ain't the high cost of living, but rather the cost of living high!

UL is getting exactly what it deserves. For years they have been claiming how great they are and how Jurich is a master AD. Even some of our own fans wanted him here. He runs the most corrupt and immoral athletic department in the country. For years they have been operating in a manner that makes you think that something has to be going on there but there was never any proof of wrong doing. They just did all the dirty things within the rules and looked the other way just to win and expand a ghetto city college. It was just a matter of time before they thought that they could do anything they wanted and get away with it. Finally, while lagging behind the rest of the big dogs in recruiting, they thought they could give recruits and players extra benefits and keep it covered up. But you can't trust a hooker. Especially one that will pimp out her own daughters.

Finally, the rest of the country is seeing how UL athletics really operates. All of the dirt will finally come out. Even the stuff Jurich was able to keep swept under the rug or in the city limits. This thing goes beyond just a sex scandal for players and recuits. It's a culture of corruption just like the SI article pointed out. You can't tell me that with a 3 headed monster in Jurich, Pitino and Petrino that UL athletics was squeaky clean.

also i think he couldn't take money because i think there may be a few recruits who know the owner of that money. and i'm sure they knew before any unofficial visits.

Oh man I haven't even checked the rivals board but the scout board is pure gold at the moment. I've never seen such insanity. When ESPN is on the air telling you this is confirmed, it happened; and you're still debating whether or not your accuser is a liar you have issues.

I don't even want to think how insane this board would be if it was us, but for right now I'm just gonna keep reading a laughing.

Bilas was very un-Bilas like in that interview. He was talking out his ***. Tried to imply that Pitino should not be punished for strict liability because, who would be required to have a class on not having hookers in the dorm?

They are coached on NOT giving impermissible benefits to players or recruits. Period. If you have assembled a staff that doesn't know hookers for players is an impermissible benefit, you should face the penalties.

Not gonna touch his stupid statement about Roy and basketball.

Pretty obvious the media in Louisville are a pretty powerful contributor to the sewer culture at city college. When the director of basketball operations has no fear of being found out, this is the result. They just never imagined loose lips that werent attached to their homies.

But, they have been side tracked from any real journalism, for years, by Jurich. The newspaper, TV, and radio have all been threatened with advertising being pulled, should they not listen to Turtleneck.

Bilas doesn't like the NCAA, and he uses every opportunity to attack them.

I remember with the Boeheim stuff, him criticizing those who wanted to "shame" Jim Boeheim.

He is at least admitting that this stuff is appalling. But, I'm shocked that he's so quick to say that he doesn't believe Pitino knows about it.

Generally, Jay tries to be very "fact based" and discuss things by the letter of the law. How about saying that he doesn't know whether or not Pitino knows?

Travis Ford just said no way Pitino doesn't know....comments on Cowherd show.

Jim Jackson says Pitino should have known, and that's no excuse.

Pitino is a lying sack of ........going political when he gets challenged.

Pitino tells both Forde and O'Neil that "the NCAA has asked me not to talk about this, and I will abide that" - then goes on to give them quotes. heh.

if true, the guys in Indy will appreciate that....
