THIS/\!!!! How are people so naive to believe thatthisstuff stoped just because Mcgee left?! Theresatleast one incident AFTER HE LEFT, yet none of these players are tainted! I'd bet my house that every player on that team including the thransers all received at least a dance, although not byPowell. In guessing they finally found clean white girls, lol, who know howtokeep their mouths shut, hence the silence after Powell was replaced.

I think it is equally naive to think that it started with McGee.

You may be right about that, though I have a feeling Rick is going to be tied to this thing somehow. I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA strongly suggests Louisville clean house. The environment in which this kind of thing could happen, over a period of years, in an on-campus men's basketball dorm, is the issue. Even if Rick has plausible deniability, he SHOULD HAVE known. I think Rick is gone.

I dont think that they will be able to tie Rick to it....but I think he is caught in the "second sex scandal shame on you" problem. He's embarrassed the university enough by his own lapse and now at least 4 years under his watch of a brothel being run in his basketball dorm. Not only the NCAA will believe that he SHOULD have known...but even the university academic side (assumes there is one) must ask that same question. How did he become soooooo detached that he didn't find out about this?

So for the reputation of the university....and dont underestimate how much having gone to the mat for hiring Bob Petrino and having him around with all his baggage.....they cannot continue to take the University of Sleaze reputation. Going from damaged Pitino to damaged Petrino again and again just cannot continue. Finally the adults will step up and Jurich will not be able to save Pitino, assuming he wants to. I am not convinced he does.

First, I can't take any writer or person seriously that complains about the grad transfer rule. I hate when people bash it. Kids commit to years with the program, graduate, and contribute to their school. I don't know why people think that giving someone a scholarship somehow makes that student locked to that school after they fulfill their college obligations.

Secondly, Pitino would have gladly done this. The guy referenced the ESPN interview, but not the widely quoted part where Pitino said he would take a fine and suspend himself if it got the team to the tournament. Did he do any research for this? Nonetheless, I doubt it would have been near enough in the eyes of the NCAA. Louisville has to suffer. Letting the team play with Ralph Williard, who isn't a terrible X's and O's guy in his own right, isn't that much of a punishment.
Of course Pitino would say he would gladly suspend himself.

He's always trying to add a few more pews to the church of Rick Pitino, the place to worship his own ego.

Look at me, I'm the good guy taking the heat for the sake of the kids. Now grovel at my feet.

DrH....I think you're framing it right - until the end. Who are the adults you speak of that will finally insist on doing the right thing? I think, by the way, this is what Jones is doing - he doesn't have any inside info that Pitino is gone, he's just making the assumption that, Good Lord, how embarrassing and awful is this, there's no way a coach could survive this mess! And I'd ask him the same thing I ask you - who, who is going to make someone do the right thing? I know there are faculty members who are embarrassed by this, and think athletics has too much clout anyway. Can a few professors make Ramsey get rid of Pitino? Who else? The business community? Nope, they are all in the Pitino/Jurich corner. The fan base? Solidly behind Pitino. People outside of the Louisville community? no one cares what they think.

Everyone assumes there will be change, because, well, I mean, look!! For crying out loud - no one in their right mind thinks a coach could survive all this smut!!

but i think he will....

"The problem that is going on is louisville cardinals is having give up chance for to play in the tournament because of what the past players did. It's not their fault an I think since it's been 6yrs ago they already let it go this far gone. Why now punish? People are always trying to get other people or schools in trouble. I say let the boys play. UK and louisville is in a basketball state why take it away from us it's out sport......"

There's a little bit more but damn I think the author may have been deep into the Crown Royal when he wrote that.

This whole mess has proven to me that UL fans really are nuttier than IU fans. I mean it was neck and neck there for a long time but I really believe that Louisville fans have pulled way out in front now. :alien:
We watched a fricking door for an entire day and somehow they're the ones that come off as crazy. Sad but true.

Yep, if he had been suspended, he would be whining that it wasn't fair and he didn't know anything about it, so why should he get suspended.

Listen to his remarks since the postseason ban, "I knew nothing about this", "I'll be vindicated", etc. It's all about him.

Louisville fans are about to find out what "Louisville Men" meant, i.e. "all about Rick".

I have absolutely no doubt Pitino took a lie detector test. Joanne had one installed on the front door lock...its the only way he can get into the house these days.

Below, from the OP's link, is the reason that I think this is finally going to be the nail...

After all, this is Louisville, which already has forgiven the married Pitino's rather embarrassing tryst with a woman who then attempted to blackmail him. It's also the school that hired back Bobby Petrino after he once lied to athletic director Tom Jurich about interviewing for SEC football jobs before he went to the Atlanta Falcons, then left for Arkansas, where he was later fired for having an improper relationship with an athletic department employee who was not his wife.

Come to think of it, how could anyone not believe that a sex scandal might eventually bring down this whole house of Cards?

But never fear for Pitino. Rumor has it that he's already highly coveted by the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Prostitution, it turns out, is legal in some parts of Nevada, though not in Vegas. That doesn't mean, however, that there aren't a lot of women nearby who would love to come over and listen to music in the Runnin' Rebels' dorm rooms.

This is not Catspause or KSR writing that first paragraph. This latest scandal is now just another in a very long line of embarrassments. Eventually the piper demands payment. The Lil Brothel Athletics department has tarnished what little reputation it has left. Much of that falls at the feet of Tom Jurich. In this case Ramsey has stepped in because in all the others its been, Tom is in charge and who better to make the hiring decisions than the nations top AD. Now the pressure on the decision making is coming from above Jurich. That could be the academic side and it could very easily be THE GOVERNOR. This governor has made no secret of his faith. He now is in a position to clean out the heathens. Don't discount that being a possibility. The buck for the whole recent history of his hiring decisions and bad boys coaches, that buck may finally make it to Jurich's desk. I do not see how he allows Pitino to stay while saving his own neck.

Well if there were similar recruiting parties in the football dorm, then it's hard to imagine ole Clint not being in the middle of it seeing as how experienced he is in that type of thing.

Once the NCAA gets their foot in the door they can pretty much investigate anything they want. Maybe this is the reason UofL self banned their team this season, hoping that the NCAA will not go any further, thus avoiding more serious allegations being uncovered in other sports.

Pitino will go to Unlv and Jurich will go to Usc and Louisville will get hammered. While the grown ups Pitino and Jurich get to keep making millions. I love that Louisville is getting hurt but Pitino and Jurich will not give a rats ***.

Typical uofl fan can't even do simple math or have simple reading comprehension skills.. Katina started in 2010 and ended in 2014 so no it hasn't been 6 years yet not even close. uofl fan the time starts after she stops. According to MJ's show stuff is still going on. I'm guessing Mr. Smrt found this out.

Going way back, and I have no doubt he's already pointed this out himself, but..

5 pages, minimum.
Even if it had turned out to be a bogus rumor with only a couple hours of run time, this still would've been a bad guess.

Spear, this is like when you ask a 6 year old how far away they think the moon is - "I dunno. A hundred miles?"

The only way Piteener gets hurt is if the NCAA strips the banners, as wealthy as he is the only way he can be hurt is his ego. Those banners coming down will hurt his legacy bad.
