Wow. Andre McGee speaks....this could be good!!!

Color me shocked. Never thought we would hear from him so soon, though some are speculating that he drives for Uber and that is how OTL got in the backseat, and that he doesn't really say anything. That seems pretty likely, but still crazy. I think what has surprised me the most from all of this is that Louisville wasn't able to buy him off to take full responsibility. Either there was too much other evidence of other involvement, or McGee was advised not to speak regardless of any bribe offer because there were criminal implications. I imagine it is the latter.

My brother, an unabashed UL fan who graduated from Bryan Station (and UL) and went to play for Schnelly before he blew out his knee, told me when all of this started, he hoped it wasn't true, but if was found to be so, he hoped they got to the bottom of it and clean house as necessary. The embarrassment of self-imposing a post-season ban does not deter his love of the Cards, but he'd rather get it all in the open and have them take their medicine. It's kind of hard to show any sympathy towards any UL fan, but he is my brother. I hope they fry in hot grease like KFC chicken!!!

If you go over to the Hall now, they are discussing it more than they were before, but true to form, several of them think the NCAA wanted to talk to her because they think she may be lying. They didn't do anything wrong and it's all a big lie, but McGee did the right thing if he didn't talk. [laughing]

Crawford will save face now. He's done all he can do to help them. I think he knows now that he's helping people that aren't even going to be there much longer.
Crawford is a UofL fan without a doubt.....I've seen him out before with his kids all wearing UofL garb

He seems both UK and UL pro to me. WDRB Sports got to where they cover both teams the best in the city while Wave 3 went from UK homers to UofL ones.

The louisville news UK homers all the way however is WHAS 11.

From the "rant" thread on their scout board - Here's the most coherent-looking argument I've seen from a Louisville fan in years - and it's still really, really bad.

Look, I know i will sound like a bitter UofL fan right now but i don't care: john calipari is the blackest black hat college basketball has ever had. on the long list of dirtiest coaches nobody has sunk two schools like he has. not jerry tarkanian, not dana kirk who went to fricking federal prison for what he did. calipari stands alone on top of the pile. i mean for the love of god, has the whole world forgotten what got marcus camby in trouble?? FRICKING HOOKERS!!!!!!!!!
So one kid who is already in your program going rogue is comparable to a staff member paying for it? GMAFB. If we can start holding coaches personally accountable for one off instances, then I guess we should tack Preston Knowles beating up an old man over a hairbrush on to Pitino's personal record. Every single program has individuals doing stupid things from time to time. One dumb junior in college deciding to hire an agent and have himself a hooker party is not in the same league as your staff buying hookers for children.

the sport's most notorious "fixer" WWW sits behind his bench.
It's been years and years, and still the only thing they have on Wes is speculation and innuendo. But their speculation is that everything Wes touches is dirty. Well, if they're going to continue speculating that, they should recall the place where Wes first made all of his connections in the basketball world - at the University of Louisville, during their most successful run in history in the early 80s.

While they were winning two of their three championships, Wes was in and out of the player dorms constantly, shaking hands and making friends in that mysterious way that he does now. If they assume he's dirty to his very core now, why the hell would they assume he was clean then? Tigers don't change their stripes - if he's an illegal benefit kind of guy, then presumably he'd have been giving illegal benefits back then, too, even if they were smaller in scale due to him being less established. They'd better hope Wes isn't the spawn of satan that they claim, because if he is, they need to hand back 2 of their 3 trophies right now.

he brags at his current job that he is completely and totally thumbing his nose at the concept of a student athlete. acknowledges, BRAGS, that he doesn't want his players to go to school, AT ALL. pushes them out the door
Yeah, shame on Cal for helping these kids to capitalize on the 10 year window they have to make millions of dollars with their unique gift, while offering every single one of them the ability to finish their education for free after their pro days are over.

It's much more noble of Rick to run his five stars into the Hungarian B League with a degree in ceiling renovations.

This must be a Cat fan incognito.
Love the possibility of dragging T-Will into this mess...

CKYCardFan:
REALLY? McGee played one season of pro ball in Germany before coming back as a grad assistant. That put him at 24-25 years old when he came back and this stuff supposedly started. Plus he was making grad assistant money. What do they make? $10 an hour? Isn't it obvious that Terrence Williams is somehow culpable as well? If you're going to believe the Andre portions of the book, then believe the T-Will portions, also. He was the millionaire in his second year of pro ball with a lottery pick contract, not Andre. And he was apparently coming back here for these parties during that time frame.

And if you also believe that the parties pre-dated McGee as a coach by a couple of years, well, that puts them occurring during Andre's and T-Will's tenures as players. It's likely that they even had a "party" when they were recruits and players. Somewhere along the way, Andre LEARNED that type of behavior, and it was deemed ACCEPTABLE at some level. THAT is why there is a postseason ban. It's completely absurd to think that Andre came in as a grad assistant, was given the power and responsibility of landing recruits, and he came up with a plan all on his own, and carried out everything, all on his own, and that there were never girls mingling with players, either before or after.

Was talking today with a coworker (Card fan of course) about the upcoming segment on ESPN. He's of the opinion that the "impermissible benefits" are no worse than giving each recruit a pair of $100 sneakers, since that's the monetary value provided by Katina and Company. Nothing more, nothing less, so what's the big deal? That my friends is the delusion to which the dirty bird fans subscribe. That's why I hope they get the death penalty.

“After several conversations with a source source close to the NCAA investigation, we realized that we could report new information about what NCAA investigators know about what happened at Louisville,” said Barr, who returned to Louisville this week with producer Caitlin Stanco. “This is information that did not come from Powell or her attorney. According to yet another source we spoke with, a person who has knowledge of the NCAA enforcement process, that new information from a source close to the investigation is sufficient to make the case a ‘slam dunk'".

Minardi Hall sounds like a nice exotic stripper joint. I look forward to reading a tantalizing Yelp review of a recruit who's been there. :pimp:

Larry Benz explains why Pitino will be cleared

Here's a copy and paste of that mess. This isn't getting its' just due. That is one delusional bunch of morons over at little brothel. Seriously, he wants you to replay the videos to "facial expression experts". Maybe he should hire a tarot card reader too. Either Pitino is blackmailing them or this guy is totally off his rocker.

Last week, in my official role as Chairman of the University of Louisville Board of Trustees, I released a statement and the first part of it reads:

"As Chairman of the University of Louisville Board of Trustees, I am deeply convinced that the NCAA findings will clear Coach Rick Pitino of any knowledge of the alleged scandal."

I received numerous messages through various outlets, most of them very complimentary and understanding. Others questioned my conviction, including the question of my access to the NCAA investigation. Let me set the record straight.

I have no access to the investigation reports, interviews, or findings. I do know that there are three parts of this process - investigative, reporting, and remediation. I believe that at some point the report is shared with the university president and the board chairman. Frankly, no one has a clue as to when that will happen - certainly not soon enough.

I do not use the words “deeply convinced” very often. My beliefs are a product of my own conclusions after contemplating the issue. I am proud to provide my justification.

First and foremost, I take Coach Pitino at his word. At many public and media venues he has vehemently denied any knowledge and he has provided adequate reasons. Who are we to question? His media presence, integrity, and honesty are undeniable. Understanding that this old fashioned “face” value doesn’t work for some, I ask that you replay the videos to facial expression experts who are unbiased and let them render their opinion.

Does a man in his late 50s (when the alleged allegations took place) who has taken three different teams to Final Fours, multiple conference championships and a national championship with an unscathed record in major infractions suddenly wake up and think his team needs a recruiting edge off the court to take them to a new level? Scientific research tells us that in regards to reputation, one becomes more risk averse as they age, not more risky and that is easy to understand. Why ruin a career or a reputation when you have already created a legendary biography as a coach?

While the general population does not know Coach Pitino, they know his type as nearly everyone has been around highly successful CEOs, managers, coaches, and teachers. They are “type A” perfectionists and strivers, who exhibit endless grit and relentless work ethic. They take their awards and accomplishments and trophies, celebrate them and put them on the shelf to go further. They delegate and trust their direct reports to do their job so that they can focus their strengths on their highest value.

Contrary to popular belief, you do not get to the Hall of Fame by micromanaging. You achieve success by setting a vision, managing your resources, building your co-workers, and practicing incredible focus.

High achievers like Coach Pitino simply get better at getting better. You don’t abandon these ways as you mature; you refine them. Judging by Coach Pitino’s prolific coaching tree, his management style and techniques work.

Can you get a rogue co-worker at least once in your career that violates trust? Yes. Can you assign a guard to every 17- to 22-year-old kid and honestly believe they won’t find a way around them to engage in activities of their choosing? Unlikely. Isn’t it more plausible that there was some criminal invasion on that part of the campus unknown to any authority?

Lastly, the use of empathy also vindicates Coach Pitino. The qualities to real empathy - perspective taking, emotion sharing, and prosocial concern - are all contained within an environment of non-judgment that eliminates bias. Take an imaginary leap into Coach Pitino’s life at the time he lost his best friend and brother-in-law Billy Minardi to ruthless terrorists on 9/11. Imagine what it felt like to be helpless in the search for your friend in the rubble of the World Trade Center and eventually come to the truth of his demise. You cry, you suffer, you cope and lead family as a friend, relative and an uncle.

Through post-traumatic recovery you find a way to honor him - an annual basketball tournament. You raise money and funds to build a state-of-the-art dormitory that is shared by the student population and your players. The beautiful building is called “Minardi Hall.” You are irreparably marred but you have permanently honored and this gives you some comfort.

It is inconceivable to me that anybody could conclude that Coach Pitino had any knowledge of any unseemly alleged events occurring in Minardi Hall.

I am deeply convinced.

The opinions in this article are mine and are not meant to reflect any organization of which I am a part.

What he said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in his incoherent rambling did he evencome close to anything that could be considered a believable thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award him no points, and may God have mercy on his soul.

I didn't read past the part where he said Pitino was trustworthy and honest. Federal prisons are littered with rich guys that wanted to be richer. The "plausible deniability" they are trying to pass off now is the reason he thought it was safe to give the green light to the shenanigans. He expected that if anything ever came up, it would be a he said she said type of scenario. He never counted on the physical evidence compiled by the *****.
