and before yall come back with your canned response...WIN. I got that but there are other things that are wrong and now should be the time to get it right. Whoever the new coach is he`ll need all the help he can get getting started.

in the 2nd half this year. Unfortunately, it was hard to tell, because the losing really put a damper on it.

and for everyone, just filling the gym would be better. It really is hard to get too rocking when the hum s half-full. Getting Flick back would be awesome but won't happen.

I really think the enthusiasm has been directly related to team effort. Team defense and reboundingaregood measures of effort. Stansbury has historically had teams that excel in these areas except for the last several years. And coincidently the crowds have been lackluster during this time also.
It's a lot like football. The environment is 10 times better than it was under Croom as is the team effort. Winning helps but I'm proud of our guys when they leave it all on the field/court and cheer more when they do.
When the players get after it on defense and actually try to move and get position on offense the crowd responds.
We applaud the effort and try to pump the team up when things get stagnant.
I don't think there is anything that the administration can do if the fans don't believe in the team.

that has really added to the excitement about the program. I think we`ll see them make some moves to re-start the basketball program and I hope they`ll be as effective as the footballefforts have been.No. 1 I think you`ve got to get the students back into the action.

Beating the teams you are supposed to and fighting it out with good teams is what will bring it back. You can remodel a restaurant but it will still be bad if the food sucks. It's all about the product. Winning took care of the problem in football by itself. It isn't a new fad tradition that has led to sellout after sellout at davis wade and it will take care of the problem at the hump.

is energetic, has the players playing with full effort all the time, and really buys into our program.

Love or hate Waddell he works the UM crowd into the game but never directly. Same at Arkansas and UF. Other schools have traditions that do it, LSU! Got to get a guy who can work the crowd without working it. It truly is an art. Plus each PA guy has to know the sport and what buttons to push when.

I know we are a small budget school and every $ counts, but we have to get the whole student section lined up in the lower section on one side. Take the custom chair back seats out on the side opposite where the TV guys are so the students are always in the picture. Put bleacher seats there so they can cram in. and then tell them they have to stand. Make the 2 rows directly behind them a walk way so that the senior citizens sitting behind them can see over the standing students. We do not need
10,400 seats so cut it back to about 9,400, raise the ticket price a little, and make it mandatory that all students sitting (standing) in that section be wearing the same colors.

I am almost 60 and I understand that STUDENTS drive the atmosphere at basketball games.

Oh....and hire a coach who can win the games he should win and some that he shouldn't.

I think enthusiasm is down at a lot of sporting events. My guess is a lot of this can be attributed to half the crowd playing on their smartphone at any given time. This isn't a knock on the students - hell, I'm bad about doing it myself - but younger people are more apt to do it. And I agree with some of the above posters - students are the backbone of crowd enthusiasm at a college event.

We need the student section like it was in the late 80's early 90's.
They were from almost mid-court around behind the goal to the end-line and it went up to the upper level too.
