Bailey brings toughness, that's why we got the ball in his hands with 3 minutes to go down 7 in a half court set. Offensive game is no replacement for toughness.

...but only if Varnado steps it up. The first major conference team we face, Varnado gets 2 points. And Jim just said 34 points in the paint for WSU, 12 for MSU. Not going to cut it, Jarvis.

I only see 5 games on our schedule that will be more difficult than tonight. We need to cut down on turnovers, shoot free throws better, and play better defense in the paint, but I think we can get it done this year. Even if Varnado doesn't step it up, Osby and/or Augustus should pick up some of the slack as the season progresses.

....but we are never very good when we don't have somebody in the post to run the offense through under Stansbury. We make the tournament when we have a big guy that can score in the paint - Austin, Roberts, and Rhodes. When we don't have that, we just aren't as effective. Turnovers are going to be there with this team, but Jarvis needs to average double figures.

we lacked physical and mental toughness but that we are not going to use youth as an excuse to not have it. He said that Jarvis has to get better against physical players. We have to get Brian Johnson back.
