Quite the different venue this week for me to file said report to follow.

Im reporting to you from 35,000' courtesy of United Airlines.

Just a quick note for today. Be grateful today. Be thankful for our first responders and all they do for us. Without them and our military personnel overseas and at home we cannot have forums like this and the freedoms we have.

Now on with the show.....

1 - That temperature of the JCA and Montini folks is at an all time high - not a good thing.
2 - That Notre Dame does this to someone every year and this year it was Nazareth
3 - That the MSL West is really really REALLY good.
4 - That this whole MSL-CSL thing is pretty cool - not so much for the CSL.
5 - That the Warren varsity can use all the help it can get from the Warren freshmen
6 - That the "Aint over til its over" award for this week goes to HF. Wow what a game vs. LWE!
7 - That Loyola's Jake Marwede might be the toughest guy to stop in short yardage in the state.
8 - That the reported demise of the Rockford Boylan program may have been premature (3-0 so far).
9 - That not many are talking about Neuqua Valley all that much - but they should.
10 -That someone, someday may score more than one touchdown against GBW. DGN is next up.

Those are my thoughts. Again God Bless all our men and women who serve, protect and do so with honor and distinction.

11. SR has a Baby Gronk of their own, #7. Wow.

12. I always wondered what Wade Weyer or Billy Marek would look like at QB. Then #27 on MC showed me. Wow. Please do the Blue and the State a favor and keep him on the edge and not touching the ball every play.

13. H-F may, again, have the most physically talented team in the state.
14. The NN Huskies are back.
15. The ESCC is wide open with Marist looking like the slight favorites.
16. I've read on this board that Montini, Naz, Benet and Fenwick compete for many of the same kids. In the preseason, who would have thought Fenwick would clearly have the best team of the four? Maybe a few Friar fans?

18. Believing you're the best doesn't work. You need to WORK for it.
19. Fenwick is the real deal folks.

H-F may have 2 consecutive "trap" games the next two weekends in the forms of 3-0 Lockport and 3-0 (soon to become 4-0) Lincoln-Way West. These 2 playoff-calibre teams are solid in their own ways in all 3 game phases. Lockport features the best QB H-F may face the remainder of the regular season. I would predict full preparation attention from the Viking staff and players for these 2 opponents.

John Belskis and the ACC Chargers might be a team to watch out for.. Watched them play a bigger Glenbard South and they look like they like to hit!

The SouthWest Suburban Conference is not looking too shabby this year with the likes of H-F, LWE, the 'Brook, LWW, Bradley and upstart Lockport playing some good football here early.
