What did you think after the first half?

I was reading one of the articles on the mississippi scout page and nutt said that he felt they had taken MSU's best shot in the first half and they (OM) were still up three. I felt the exact opposite about the first half. I felt like we were in very good shape b/c OM had pulled out all the stops and we were only down 3. They had already pulled out a fake punt (on the very first possession no less) and made a spectacular, yet very lucky, touchdown catch. I say it was a lucky catch because without our player falling between the ball and the ground it would have been a harmless incomplete pass.

By the way, its funny to read those articles. I think I must have watched a different game than those guys.

another question, how many of OM's points came off "big plays." It was frustrating at the time to watch us manhandle OM yet they would pull off a 40+ yard touchdown play to stay in the game. We have got to get better at preventing the big plays.

I thought we had a chance to win if we played Relf more.

Which is pretty much what I thought going into it. That it was a coin flip. That it would go down to the wire. That it was our coaching and will against McCluster and Hodge's ability. Maybe a last team to have the ball type thing. Nothing about their season said they were so much better than us that they'd beat us on our field. They were a little better against LSU (and probably Auburn, Vandy, and Bama), and they played Arkansas at home.... which is a big difference. Everything said they were A LITTLE better than us. But we had home field. I was not surprised we won.

I just felt that our defense was going to break down and McCluster was going to have a big game in the second half. I was very mistaken; it was the Relf and Dixon show. Have they named the SEC player of the week? If not it should only be between two, Relf and Dixon. I know Dixon ran his butt off but it was Relf that opened things up for him.

the go ahead TD going into the half. It just seemed so typical of our defense to breakdown at that point and kill all our momentum. But thankfully we showed up and played to a level I have not seen in the second half. Relf was definitely the difference maker this past Saturday and thankfully Mullen saw that and didn't change it.

I really thought we made a mistake in showing Nix the "Relf package" so late in the second quarter. I know we scored, but I figured the Ole Miss D would adjust at halftime and at least slow us down. I was clearly wrong.

have been much closer but I think we would still have prevailed, we were the better team and we shut down McCluster for the most part which was the key to victory. I am glad he is gone.

I just don't understand. I read one of the post game comments and one of our coaches said we ran the same 3 plays over and over, they just counldn't stop it.

The time of possession was a 6 second difference in the 1st half. I thought we could keep it close, but I didn't think we'd be able to keep up with their offense. I also jokingly asked my friend, "Man, what if we come out and whip that *** in the 2nd half?" So I guess you could say I called it.
