I've noticed that our opening drive works pretty well most games. Dan scripts the first 15 plays (I believe), and sticks to those plays. After those 15 scripted plays, it's like he and Koenig cannot think on the run against good teams.
Just saw Mullen getting in Collins face going to the lockeroom. I think he was pissed we gave up 3 right before the half. And he had every right to be upset. He was ranting and raving for a good 10-15 seconds at Collins. Just don't let your side of the ball suck in the 2nd half. For as bad as the def did, we still only let them score 7 in the 2nd.
He said on the halftime TV interview that their score right before half was a total coaching failure, and that we have now allowed 3 scoring drives right before the half this year (OK St, LSU, BG).
Yep. We drove down and scored on the 1st drive of the 2nd half in the Auburn and LSU games. Then nothing. Last night was the opposite. We had a 3 and out the 1st drive, then drove down and should have gotten 2 FGs on the next 2 drives. The offenses biggest problems in the 2nd half were the defense couldn't get off the field and the kicker sucks balls. We only ran 29 plays in the 2nd half to their 38.
At the halftime break on radio, which I think was immediately after the short television interview on the way to the locker room, he was really short with the MSU field guy (pretty sure it's Carrero) ... Mullen's last words to him as he left were a sarcastic "Well, what do you think??" or something of the sort. Mullen was pretty pissed.
