What do we have to look forward to as MSU fans?

I say...nothing.

Football as we all know is over for all intensive purposes. People will still have fun tailgating, but the games themselves might as well the Calgary Stampeders vs. the Edmonton Eskimos because I will care as much about the outcome of that game as I will of any future MSU games this season. When Croom wins one of his patented "I shouldn't have won that game" games, it will just mean he will be around again next year. If we lose those games, MSU lost. Either way I won't be happy.

Basketball is going to be horrible as well. Rhodes and Gordon gone, replaced with some freshmens, a bricklaying shooting guard, and a guy who gets more blocks than points every game.

Baseball will be very very good in the regular season, but unless something changes our new coach cannot seem to win in the post season. We might have a very exciting team that scores a lot of runs, but it still won't mean anything toward what most MSU fans want, a CWS championship.

Soccer? Volleyball? Golf? Quiz Bowl? Is MSU worth a **** at anything? I guess our chicken farming team is better than your chicken farming team.

the SEC West is weak in basketball this year and should hide how bad we will be...we got to the NIT with our young team

Baseball is a different story- expect baseball to take off. Winning in baseball at Kentucky is like winning at State in football. The man is going to do great things in S'ville.

and best case scenario- Crooms wont fire Woody and we have a Mexican standoff in November ending with his resignation or firing.

last I checked, Greg Byrne is still our athletic director. Better days are ahead. What should we ask for? In my opinion, just winning programs, with a championship baseball program. 1.75 million will buy us that in football, Stans is the Nutt of basketball, he takes what he has and gets the best out of them, and most of the time finds ways to win games. Cohen will win alot of games in baseball. Will he win a title? Who knows, but I'll bet he puts the type of team on the field that has the potential to do so.

Our football season may appear to going nowhere, and if worst case scenario (or best case, depending on what you want) plays out and Croom is fired next year (we all know that's the earliest it can happen), you know Byrne will make a good hire for the money we will have available. And if Croom turns it around, then that's good too, maybe even better.

One thing that I've realized that we do have to do, is financially support all athletics program.

For all INTENTS and purposes, we have a hole in a cow. That's awesome.

I think we'll at least be back in Hoover, and if Cohen can get it going right quicker than I expect, we might be hosting a first round regional. Wishful thinking maybe, but it's something to look forward to nonetheless.

Any basketball success will come as a pleasant surprise to me next year as well, you dirty hippie.

Cohen will be the best baseball coach we've ever had, but he's going to be stuck with Polk's players this season. If we can sneak into a regional as a #3 seed, that would be a damn good year for us this year. But the glory days of MSU baseball will return in 2010 or 2011.

The West is going to be terrible this year. Athlon did a good break down on the pros and cons of each team. Besides Arkansas, anyone could win it. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was a repeat of two years ago when we were co-champs with Ole Miss.

I'm about to hit you in the face 10 times, it won't hurt as bad as 20 kicks to the balls.

as a #3 seed, that would be a damn good year for us this year. But the glory days of MSU baseball will return in 2010 or 2011.

I expect our offense to be better, and our pitching to be better only because we were THAT bad and McNickle is gone. I actually think that our lineup will be pretty good, but our pitching is still going to be our weak link. We still don't have a legit ace, and we need to find a closer, and I seriously doubt that we will find anyone remotely as good as Weatherford.

I agree with you as far as the upcoming season, though. I think that we are only going to win about 30 games next year, but that might be good enough to sneak into a Regional as a three seed. I could see us possibly being in the SEC Tournament as a 7-8 seed, but if we miss the Tournament, it wouldn't be a big shock. I hate to say it, but we could possibly have another losing season, but I doubt it. I think Cohen is going to have our team playing too hard for that to happen unless our entire pitching staff goes down again or something crazy happens.

I think the two big keys are our pitching staff and our middle infield. If we can shore those two areas up, we'll probably be pretty good.

I look forward to Croom getting fired. That is going to be awesome. He has embarrassed us enough. Why can't it happen in the middle of the season. It wouldn't make our team any worse. I have never ever known MSU football to be any more embarrassing then it has been in the past 5 years. Croom getting fired will be the best thing that has ever happened to MSU in the history of MSU sports.

When I was on MSU's Quiz Bowl team, we beat Ole Miss the two times we played them.

to go back to being themselves.

Maybe then our keystone cops version of a football team might screw around and accidentally win a game.

You people are getting too damn smart to tolerate.

nobody would fire the first SEC AA coach in the middle of the season after going to a bowl last year. If Crooms would hire a real OC, get the 17 out of the way & just deliver 'Churchill say' pep talks & recruit players, I think he could be a good HC. Problem is, I don't see him ever getting away from his wonderful WCO.
