wrong on both counts. <div>
</div><div>Everybody thought our OL sucked terribly and would never amount to **** after being landsharked. It was emotional 6pack at its best.</div><div>
</div><div>And check the commitment list for Philip Freeman. Croom was after some line help after 2007, and especially after the gun wielding incident, which put us down another lineman.</div><div>
</div><div>You just can't win this, slick.</div>

since this state produces that type of talent, the program will take off. I really thought it was going to be Anthony Alford, and hope it still is.

Recruiting classes from 2007 and 2008 should be the leaders of this class. Coach Croom was in charge of those...

Is Mullen to blame for not getting a few JuCo's to fill the holes this year? Absolutely... but it wasn't like he didn't try... he just swung and missed on some guys that he thought he had great shots at getting. Hopefully we won't go through that **** again this January.
When all else fails, blame it on Croom. <div>

<div>So do you. Is it too much to ask that you have a good take every now and then?</div>

Check the rosters: Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida ALL have two guys that are sophomores or freshmen starting on their line. Therefore, EVERY team has two find young guys for their line, even the best teams in the best conference in football. The problem is that in two full years of recruiting, Mullen hasn't been able to recruit two guys on the line that are better than Croom's recruits. D. Sherrod was a stud from the moment he arrived, and Croom started lots of very young guys on the line when started because of what he was left with. This team was in so much better shape than when Croom took over from Sherrill as to the line.<div> He are the facts: 10 out of 11 starters on defense are Croom signees or commitments. That is incredible that Mullen hasn't recruited more than one defensive player in two years that is better than what is already on the field. Croom consistently had four year starters on defense because his recruiting was always getting better. You have to admit that Mullen not starting any of his recruits on defense except for one is an admission by him that his recruits are worse than Croom's. There is no other explanation. You play the best guys and Mullen's recruits are not the best, obviously.</div><div> We are still at a point where eight out of 11 on offense are Croom signees or recruits. You think the line will be better next year? Have you seen Dillon Day play? Think Farve is the answer at QB? Mullen has one more year with that '09 class put together by Croom. After that, the bottom falls out for Mullen. His recruiting has been poor. If he had just signed five studs in each class, then we would be winning this year. </div>

Croom left Mullen with 5 OL starters for basically 3 full years - what else could you ask for? The idea that we're going to replace Sr OL every year with RS Jrs just isn't going to happen. Kids play early all over the country if they're good enough. The key is getting the kids that are good enough.

This is as much on Hevesy as it is anyone. He believes he can take basically any kid and coach him up to an All SEC guy. That prevailing attitude has cost us our OL depth in 2010 more than any other single factor.

need to start "doing" what it takes to get the level of talent we need. Need to pick up the quay's, benequez, c ward, brassell, cj's, moncrief, singleton, richie brown, whatever the DT's name was that went to Texas Tech. Auburn buys all their ****, and operates with immunity. We all know they are doing it. Om does it. Get creative...if that whole cam scenario made it thoughthe ringer without prosecution then it is doable without getting caught (cause that was as blatant as I have ever seen). I bet LSU/bama purchase from time to time if Ohio St/USC buys then everyone does. The NCAA is as crooked ats obama.

Shuck out some goodies this year. 17 the NCAA.

In response to the poll....OL and poor QB play early which are interchangeable because the OL was pretty inept. losing Diaz hurt more than I thought it would.

well blah blah blah, i am done. beat ole miss by 50....couple gratutious onside kicks, couple unnecessary two point conversions. Someone 17 Cj up and I wouldn't mind brassell getting knocked senseless either.

We execute a little better in the red zone, and we sit at 7-4. We beat Auburn and South Carolina if we could just find a way to get those few yards on the goal line.<div>
</div><div>Other than that, our offensive line has come through but not like we needed to in order to run our offense with ease.</div><div>We miss that 1 wide receiver that can get up and make a big play to win a big game (see: Jeffries for USC circa 2011)</div><div>I don't know the problem with our offense in the Arkansas game. I hope that was just a bad game. Maybe Arkansas is just that good.</div>

You're not going to start nothing but seniors and jrs on the line every year as long as you're getting good OL recruits, but you better have enough serviceable Redshirt sophomores, juniors, and seniors that you can put together a decent OL if you ever expect to be able to survive an injury there.

Although Croom left Mullen with a good crop of jrs. and seniors, the gap after that is killing us now. You can't recruit 2 OL a year for two years and expect there to not be problems. You're going to miss on some (Templeton Hardy), you're going to get some with the injury bug (Tobias Smith). This is even more important at MSU. Alabama may be able to go cherry pick one of the stud highschoolers or JUCO OL if they end up with a critical need, but MSU is going to have years where they realistically do not have a shot at a ready to start JUCO lineman or one of the stud highschool players that is ready to play OL after one year on campus.

It would have been nice for Mullen to pick up a good JUCO OL or a stud highschool player in his first class, but it didn't happen. He did get five decent OL that have a chance to be serviceable to good. If Croom had had around 4OL prospects in the class Mullen ended up signing (did he have anybody lined up other than Gabe Jackson?), or if Croom had signed more than two more decent prospects beyond Templeton Hardy and Tobias Smith in the final class he signed, we'd be in a much better spot on the OL.
