I thought when we moved into our new building with the "open" office environment a few months ago that the worst thing I would hate was thinking I was sitting in the middle of a casino trying to work. Don't get me wrong, I do feel like that and I'm about ready to kick the crap out of the next person that has a conversation 2 feet behind me while I'm trying to work. That being said, it isn't the worst part of it. The part I really hate is the white noise they have pumped in that sounds like a cat hissing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unless they let me work from home I won't be there much longer because of it. If I ever have an interview and I drive up and can tell the building is the open office environment, I won't even go in and accept the interview.

I’m 57 and like what I do, it’s pretty easy but I’m not looking for advancement or learning new ****. Yet, every year I have to come up with new goals and other BS. Another thing I hate is having to pass a quiz on annual re-certs for work, I’ve never been a good test taker. Just have me read through the material and acknowledge at the end that I understand said literature, any FU I might have due to lack of understanding falls on me, I’ll take that chance.

People that play dumb and don’t take responsibility for their mistakes that I have to clean up.

Working from home and being able to make my own hours to a certain extent.

Feeling like I am somewhat overpaid for what I do.

Having a job that is relatively stress free and a manager that I get along with.

Hate my life most days, having to spend next week in SoCal on the company dime is not helping.

Sick clients. I’m almost to the point of moving their chair back to the door enterance, or simply covering my face during their interview.

IT is constantly moving. As an IT engineer I never have a day where I can just go into the job and be like "i have these things to do and I know exactly how to do them"

No. I get there and it's like.. Ok these things are broken and we have no idea how to fix them.

We get it done. You read up on it. You tinker with it. You hit with a wrench until it works. But man.. That weighs on you after a while. I'm envious of jobs that have a portion of monotony to them.

I loved my job. Retired 4 years ago at 55 and consider going back for a month or two all the time. I hate that I don't get to do my job anymore.

Reminds me of a saying back in the day. I'm wishing I was on the job I was on when I was wishing I was on this job.

I hate how the bonuses always jump me into a higher tax bracket. It’s also hard to use all of my vacation time.
Same here. 2 pay raises since last July, which I'm very thankful for. Plenty vacation time and sick leave (over 4 months) saved. Great work environment. No more "grant me or so-and-so network permission for access or you will die" threats from certain demented managers outside my department. Life is great.

See ya soon out in Sin City.

That even though I work for a multi billion dollar company, the number one thing the jackhole that runs the building i work in worries about is if you're holding the damn handrail when you go up the steps. Seriously, this idiot has security people sitting at the top of the stairs sometimes making notes about how many people are holding the handrail. It's like being in freaking kindergarden.
I wonder what the security guy hates most about his job

Yup. Go into the office expecting to complete A, B and C and instead have to address X, Y and Z. Daily occurrence.
