Wife and I went to Costco last night. While walking down one of the aisles, another shopper had their cart in the middle blocking our progress. Since everyone was masked up, my wife asked, very politely, if they would move their cart as we didn't want to move it for them and potentially cause them some consternation with contamination concerns re: COVID. They sort of laughed it off and said 'no problem'. Then, the father said, 'I'm not worried about the virus. If you know Jesus Christ, there's nothing to worry about'. So many things came into my head to reply but only my wife replied with 'Okay'. I mean, who says **** like that in a Costco to a complete stranger and what do you say afterwards? How I didn't roll my eyes and bite off some snarky remark to the affect that 'only non-Christians have caught COVID? Really? You believe that?' or something like that is a miracle.

I think he was saying he wasn't worried about if he was wrong about the virus because hes not worried about the afterlife.

I dont worry about the virus either. Ive had contractors doing all manner of this summer . They show up masked and I tell them simply, they don't need to wear it on my account. Leave it up to them.

You should’ve pulled your shirt off, pinched both of your bare nips and then politely asked him to read you his favorite psalms. Then as he pulled out his pocket bible and started preaching the good word you should’ve just started squeezing those nips harder and softly moan as he read along. I imagine after 15 minutes or so you all would’ve reached some sort of understanding.

I almost wrote "just respect their beliefs and ignore them, it's no big deal". But I recently made a threat about Christians Against Dinosaurs, so I guess that kind of disqualifies me from offering that kind of advice. ;)

Omg someone said Jesus right to your face?

Oh the horror! But I am a Christian. I think he means, even if things go south for you, if you know Christ, everything will be OK. If I'm a non-believer, I say "thanks" and move on; weird thing to get offended over (directed to OP, or anyone who would be offended by this). It doesn't mean that life doesn't sometimes suck; I'm going through a tough time myself, but I'm not worried as a whole. I have now been "quarantined" for 58 days now. If someone said "If you know Allah, everything will be OK", I would disagree, but I would say "thanks" and move on. Very few things truly offend me, and this is not one of them.

That was in my office too before I retired and almost all of them took the mask off.

So what is the aim of the post and what has you bothered? They moved their cart. The man expressed an opinion on his faith. This has you upset? WHich part? That he said that or that he has faith in Christ? Not sure what you're trying to get across here.

I would have said “I’m an Atheist and haven’t been sick in years.”

Actually I probably wouldn’t have, but would like to say that.

The only good impression I can do is Hank Hill. When I learned the voice, it was Mr. Anderson from Beavis and Butthead.

On topic, I'd have just given him a slight smile and nod as I was waking on by. Pretty much the same thing I do anytime someone says anything religious toned toward me. That's their thing and that's fine.

How about just not taking everything as a personal affront, tell the person thanks, then quit pulling your hair, which must be on fire, and not give it another thought, you enormous puss.
