Players only get to get recruited out of high school one time. If they want to make a big production out of it, be it a hat picking ceremony, jumping out of an airplane, or this Goodfellas based skit, fine by me.
In fact, I have always found it somewhat ironic that people are surprised this sort of thing happens. Sites like Rivals, Scout, 247 have built huge corporations based on following these kid's every move, calling them every day or so to get updates, and calling for a fan base to follow a recruit on social media. Someone has to be paying for these sites to be profitable.
So in summary - grown *** man, creates Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat accounts and follows recruits accounts, pays money on a monthly or yearly basis to Rivals, Scout and/ or 247 to keep up the day to day recruiting process of a 17 year old,who might play football for the school they cheer for, is surprised and somehow upset when said 17 year old creates a big production to announce where they will spend the next 4-5 years. Adding to the irony and hypocrisy, is the fact that same fan will use this same social media and websites to talk **** about those players, their families and how they were raised all because they aren't living up to the fan's preconceived expectation of their ability to play football.
