Another wonderful article about the values...with these 2 paragraphs...

I imagine it must be pretty hard to "inhale" the holy spirit every morning, like ole Bucky does....

As I have said before, Coach Freeze is a great talker/motivator/salesman. He has been a few missionary trips in his time, and if they are anything like his recruiting skills, he probably got a high conversion rate. Let me tell you how I imagine Coach Freeze is getting these recruits, which I believe in all honesty is how he goes about his recruiting angle. We have all heard countless stories about how these kids come from real messed up lives. Single parent, living in poverty, don’t have too much to call their own other than their religious faith, and other characteristics that you hear all to frequently about. In the South, its seems more often than not this is this case. What I think Freeze excels in with these recruiting visits is winning over the parent(s) on his visits. I can almost guarantee you Freeze tells each parent, “Not only do I want your son to grow as a football player, but more importantly I want him to grow as a man and grow as a man in Christ (when he feels it applicable)”.

Now where else more than in the Bible Belt south can this approach be more successful at? I can just see an elderly grandmother sitting in her small house in the country in Alabama jumping up and down after Freeze visits her and her son yelling, “I want my baby to play for Coach Freeze!” Basically, that’s how I think it goes. That exact scenario may not always be the case, but if I know Freeze, its something along those lines. It also doesn’t help when he can tell a kid, “Hey, you remember the movie The Blind Side? Yea, that was about one of my kids. That was us. If I can play a part in helping him get to the NFL amid all of his circumstances, just imagine what I can do for you.” Boom. And that’s how you end up with Robert Nkemdiche and Laquon Treadwell.

Honestly, here is how it plays. Freeze lays low, if things start to snowball, he gives the old shepherd can't attend to his flock at all times. If things really escalate, he let's go of all people involved. Believe it or not, the whole preacher facade is not lapped up by the Reb faithful, they, like u,s couldn't care less about that. So, for his base, he can do what he wants as long as he wins. The crux of the situation lies in the living rooms of recruits across the country. That is where the Rev make's his schtick stick. If he does nothing and this thing moves forward, every coach in the country will call him out on his hypocrisy and the classes will suffer.

That's exactly what he should have done. But Bjork has put the athletic dept. on the line with his statement that they've already investigated this and found nothing to it. If this suit does have legs, it's going to be hard to distance themselves from it now.

easy....no doubt about they go the team vote route. with those fine, upstanding young men they have in oxford, the kimdeecheeses are as good as gone.

either that or freeze takes 15 minutes out of his busy schedule to gnaw 7 crosses and the crucifixions ensue.

They quietly settle the suit and move on to helping more youngsters. There has to a new movie just around the corner.

I fully expect..."Kicking them OFF the team is the wrong thing to do. More than ever, they need their football family. We can't turn our back on one of our own in this time of need. These are young men are of high morals and need our hep'. We ask that everyone remain patient and respect their privacy. We also want everyone to pray for these young men and show understanding."

Bet your *** the congregation will lap it up.

This has an eerie Stansbury/ Sydney feel to it.
Meaning he stands firmly behind RK. Because of his unlimited POTENTIAL capabilities.
Then:
RK still acts like a moron outside of football but performs well on the field = Freeze feels the pressure but fans are still ok because we have a good player.
But:
RK keeps doing stupid things outside football and does not become the greatest FB player= Freeze is then stupid for putting up with his crap and should have gotten rid of him.

It won't be long until we hear, "they've done everything we've asked them to do." They don't finish the thought, though, to say "which is be quiet and let us do damage control so they don't have to miss any games."

Exactly spot on ...

Bjork has 'committed' to doing all the university can to support the brothers. The "they've already investigated this and found nothing to it" excuse is a straw dog at best. I can't imagine that the 2 brothers and 5 other football players stuck around after the ambalance arrived, much less to talk to the police.

The only part of this I don't understand is why the two that were attacked never filed a report with the police.

If I am Dan Mullen and I visit one of these recruit's mommas after Freeze is done with his sermon, I would just walk in and throw down a list of athletes in legal trouble at Ole Miss and say "Don't believe the snake oil salesman." Freeze is losing his holy cred with every incident.

I bet he throws a bubble screen.

Seriously, I remember when the sexual assault came to light there were mixed thoughts here. About ppl's lives being destroyed, the pain of the victim weighed against the pain and pub of om. If you run "crazy" recruiting parties, you have to expect something like this will happen eventually. Like if you are going to preach, and teach then cut out the side bar bs. You can't have it both ways, that would be "straddling the fence". I really think Freeze is a good person, but he probably doesn't mix well with the om ilk behind the scenes. David Cutcliffe was a good man too without the religious angle. you see what that got him.

Same thing he said after the Egg Bowl loss. He's going to recruit new players.

Problem w/ your comparison (Sydney and RK) is you said RK "performs well on the field", Sydney didn't but ole Syd had so much crap on Ric he couldn't get rid of him
