"We've won 148 football games in my time here at Tennessee and lost a little bit less than that -- a lot less than that, actually -- and we didn't all of a sudden get stupid as coaches," Fulmer said.

To me, this means Fulmer is gone after the season.

It should be interesting to see UT fire a coach that just donated $1 million to the university this past year.

I do think it's about time for him to go though.

to how much he has stolen from them.

I guess they'll go get John Gruden, or has that rumor sailed?

He's saying that their stupidity as coaches has taken time to develop.

Now, I wonder if he's actually taking a shot at Croom, whose stupidity appears to be congenital.

The Gruden rumor is still floating about. I have some UT buddies, and they all want Gruden. In fact, they're hoping they can suck enough to get rid of Fulmer and Tampa will suck enough for Gruden to come available.

I'll wager anything that Gruden's West Coast Offense wouldn't take any time at all to work.

doesn't think anyone should question any coach that is .500.

So, ****. Croom when .615 last year. He knows what the hell he is doing. Don't dare question him.

I haven't seen it on the page. UT just may be getting things together for Gruden or somebody. They're holding a press conference at 2:00pm today . Heard that FatPhil is resigning. So they get a new coach because the old one only wins 8 or so a year and could only muster one NC. Meanwhile we are still stuck with the turd on our sidelines.

Spurrier grew up in Tennessee and his dad took him to Tennessee games......Just a thought....probably won't happen but it did cross my mind...Wouldn't that be a hoot to see Tenn and Fla. play each year.........More bazaar things have happened.

During Fulmer's Monday radio call-in show, three different callers made it through the screening and asked/told him to resign. He said that he is absolutely not going to resign. Does he mean it? Who knows, but the fanbase has turned on him worse than I have ever seen. Local radio is giving odds of an over/under for attendance to the Northern Illinois game is 70,000, which would probably be a 3 or 4 decade low attendance.

The magic number for Fulmer is 8 wins. He has an automatic contract extension clause in his contract - if he wins 8 or more games in a season his contract is automatically renewed for another year. So with six years left on his contract, if he keeps winning 8 games, he will keep having 6 years left on his contract. I will bet if that clause isn't met, Mike Hamilton will use it as leverage to fire him and find the 5.1 million to buy him out.

a good friend of mine is a drug rep. He calls on a Dr. Kaplan that is a big UT donor. As in the hospitality room at Neyland stadium and something else is named after him. Dr. Kaplan told UT he will no longer give as long as Fulmer is coaching. Period. He will be gone....

The good news for us is this. If we roll Croom at the end of the year some might point to what he did last year. But UT firing Fulmer one year removed from playing in the championship game helps us in my opinion.
