Since Beamer seems intent on running his mouth despite 33-30 overall record and 16-24 in the SEC all while getting paid $8.1 million/year (and that doesn't include the bonuses available to him), Donati should offer to show him the door OR make Beamer's entire salary contingent on where the team finishes in the polls. Top-10, pay him his $8.1 million plus a bonus to make him top-10. If he finishes 11-20, average the salaries of those 10 coaches and pay him the average. If he finishes 21-30, average those salaries and pay him that. Be bold and take a stand against all these prima donna coaches who get paid millions to not deliver. Provide an incentive for them to win instead of a golden couch cushion for them to get fat on.

In the SEC, Beamer has to go 8-0 to make it back to .500. Ten wins next year (which is what it takes to make the CFP) would make his record 43-32 (57% winning percentage). Neither of these metrics deserve an $8.1 million salary. Not even close.

Yesterday had the feel of a coach that has lost his team.Up until what I saw yesterday during the game and post game I don’t believe Shane makes it very far into2026 before Donoti goes ahead a makes a move.I’m sure all involved are relieved 2025 is over but I just don’t see things improving next year.
The only hope for Beamer is if the admin decides to suddenly dump a bunch of money on player acquisition in lieu of Shane’s buyout.Florida tried that but it didn’t work.

I like the idea of a contract skewed heavily toward incentives. We always hear about how driven, competitive, and confident P4 coaches are, but they all want huge guaranteed salaries and buyouts. I'd ask them "If you think you're a winner, what are you so afraid of?"
