Based on a dream I had last night where I traveled back in time, I thought to myself this morning, how could I apply this to sports? So here it is...

If you could go back in time to another era of high school football in the state, what era would you like to go back and see and why?

Vol beat me to the punch. I did get to see Danny Davis in 87, which was my first experience with HS football. He was an amazing RB and was just as fierce at LB. Those were good times in the Lynchburg area when the Rustburg/Brookville game decided the Seminole champ and usually an undefeated regular season for the winner.

I would have liked to have seen Ronald Curry at Hampton and Allen Iverson at Bethel in the early to mid 90's.

I would have liked to have seen Vic Hall at Gretna in the early 00's.

So would you say that Davis is one of the best players you've seen in person?

Mike, being as you are such a big Salem fan, what era of Salem would you like to see? Obviously the one right now is without question pretty good but there have been some other great eras...

I would have liked to have seen Marcus Parker play and the 91 runner up season.

I would have liked to have seen Dennis Haley play and the 96-00 seasons where the Spartans won 4 championships in 5 years.

Absolutely one of the best RB/LB I've ever seen play in Va HS. Of course it was my first experience with HS football at age 13, so my memory and judgment could be skewed somewhat. I think a lot of people who had the pleasure to see him play would agree he was one of the best.

I really wish I could have seen him play or at least see the film from then.

I would like to go back to the mid to late 80's and be able to see Danny Davis play at Rustburg. The stories I've heard of this guy are unbelievable! He's a legend around the Lynchburg area and Seminole District.

This! My dad still says he's the best high school player he's ever seen. My dad played at Liberty in the late 70s. Film wasn't prevalent back then but I wish their was more out there on him so we could witness his greatness.
