How did you meet Michael Jordan? He is the person I would most like to meet. About 26 years ago I was in middle school and our family was in Chicago. We found out where Jordan lived and where the mansion was that he was building. The house he lived in at the time was in a neighborhood about like Palomar here in Lexington. Nice 2 story home but “normal” neighborhood, no gates or anything. While we were out front taking pictures, his wife and 2 boys came to the door to get a UPS delivery. His boys were waving to the weirdos (us) sitting in front of their house. The house he was building was the 56,000 sq ft mansion.I actually found all of them pretty funny, engaging, and human.. except maybe the fourth one.. not so much.
Met and spoke with him twice in private airports. How did you meet Michael Jordan? He is the person I would most like to meet. About 26 years ago I was in middle school and our family was in Chicago. He and I only discussed family, vacation spots, and basketball in general, nothing specific about the past.Question? Always had a theory that Billy D. would have loved to take over from Pitino but Rick kept him from taking the job. Think he did it again when he was at UL. Did he ever talk about turning us down twice? I know UK was interested. Had he followed Pitino I think he would still be the UK HC and have a couple titles.
I met Nicki Taylor at a Derby party in ‘99.

Lots of U.K. players. Several times for some. Delk, Kenny Walker, and Ravi were the most engaging.

Some Bengals cheerleaders
Ran into Perry Stevenson about a month ago. Nice guy.
Know a bunch of MLB players from my time working in minor league front offices.
Best person: Blake Snell who just won the Cy Young. Joc Pederson is also a good fella but quiet
Biggest Douche: Andrew Toles, OF for LA Dodgers. Self entitled prick but I do have a funny story about him that isn’t appropriate for the board.
Also know a guy who was a detective in Breaking Bad, Robby Sanchez, fantastic dude
I know I won’t gain any points for this one, I forgot about. I met joe Biden as VP. Politics aside, dude was the second most powerful man at the time. Pretty cool
Another name
Ronnie Dunn- lead singer of Alabama (cool dude)
Met Kareem at the 97 championship game. I was like 15 at the time. I had no clue who he was. My dad had to explain who he was.
I didn't ask him but my brother googled him and it said he was an assistant coach at St. X in Louisville.Where is ole Perry. I’ve got a nice 20x24 of his dunk I’d like him to swipe in silver for me if possible.
I want to work in minor league front offices how do I do that.

Gave hang gliding lessons to Michael Douglas. Very quiet (didn't want to disclose his identity) but athletic and caught on quick. I did not know who he was until after he left and the owner of the hang gliding shop told me. This was in 1979 before he had any top billings.
I didn’t know if u would pick up on it so I slipped it in. Paddock rules. Lol
My Cousin played for the Birmingham Barons when Michael Jordan played. We always went to spring training and I got a chance to meet and talk to Michael a tad. Was a bit of a prick to be honest. Not mean necessarily but just not that personable.
Then when my cousin got called up when Robin Ventura broke his ankle I got to meet Frank Thomas. I was a young kid. I went up to him to ask him for his autograph and he responded "Get the F away from me lil punk." Never will forget that one. My dad was LIVID lol.
Your dad should have grabbed a bat and put a big hurt on him.
Marty Brennaman- prick
Johnny Bench - *******
Pete Rose -*******
What famous people have you met and how was the encounter?
Some posters were talking about this in a different thread and it was really interesting. Figured I would get a thread going on it to get some more of you crazy people involved.
So who have you met and how did you meet them? How awesome were they? Or, in most cases it seems, how big of a prick did they turn out to be?
Let’s hear it!
Totally believe that about Springer. Seems like he’d be a very humble guy.
Nope , grew up watching the reds. I could see Riverfront stadium from my living room, and even went to games at old Crosley field. I bet you're not from Cincinnati. It's a pretty well established fact those guys are ********. Or at least they were when they were starsHate the Reds?
Met all 3 on numerous occasions over the years (baseball camps, outings, dinners, etc)...always cordial and talkative.
[laughing]Kevin Nash - Saw him in the airport in Atlanta. He was signing autographs for several kids, and I stopped for just a second and said "hey, didn't you used to play basketball for Tennessee?" He looked like he didn't know what to say for a second, the laughed and said "yeah". I said, "yeah, I thought so" and walked away while he had a WTF? look on his face.
