<p class="MsoNormal">Any team, any sport

For me it is the Gator Bowl. I had a sweet deal lined up with a friends
place to stay and free tickets that where on the 50 yard line, but being the
broke college student that I am, I couldn't afford the gas money. Alone
with a couple of other uncontrollable events I was unable to make the trip. Instead I
went to my brothers where we devoured an ungodly amount of hot wings and beer
as we watched the New Years Eve massacre of Michigan, which was still 17in
awesome.</p>

I got the flu the day before the game. My parents wouldn't let me go and I remember telling my dad I would never forgive him for not letting me go. I never have and never will.

I had gone to the USM-42, MSU-14 game and the Bama 42, USM-7 game earlier that season. I had been planning to go to MSU-Bama too, but after seeing those 2 games, I thought why go and watch MSU get killed?

It was my freshman year and I had bought a plane ticket for Houston for that weekend. Since I didn't want to lose the $75 round trip fare, I decided "I'll go to the next SECCG.". What a dubmass.

I had a ticket, and decided against it since I had already seen us get beat by Maine. I had a gut feeling the whole week that we would win, but I went against it and sat at home while the rest of the family trucked up to Starkville and watched Zook get Croomed.

I lived in Milledgeville GA at the time and it was only 2 hrs away. I'll be kicking my own *** on my death bed for that one.

Edited to say next would have to be missing the Burke Masters Grand Slam.

Much like the Cotton bowl, it was cold and drizzling throughout. The outcome helped though. Even though Hazlewood really missed it.

Can't believe no one has mentioned 1996 SEC BBall Championship Game. After the regular season game in Starkville, I was convinced we were going to get smoked that weekend. I had access to free tickets, but didn't feel like making the drive down to N.O. to watch us lose.

yes, better than the 99 Egg Bowl, the 94 TN game, the 99 LSU game all of which I was also at. I just remember the SEC West being on the line, standing up the whole 4th quarter, people stomping on the bleachers, it was really wild and when we made those 4th down conversions and the refs raised their arms on Hazelwood's final FG it was euphoria. Left the game totally emotionally drained. I'm just glad looking from the stands I couldn't tell how close that last FG was to being no good, if I had I might would have passed out. Never has an MSU football team ever played so clutch in the 4th quarter with so much on the line. Even in the 1980 Bama game we were holding on at the end, we didn't actually have to drive on Bama and score to win like we did in that 98 Arkansas game.

I have a friend that wanted to take his girlfriend to the game and I had to work that day and Maine. I remember telling him- here are the tickets. Not sure why you want to go to this game, but here you go. Famous last words.

I was 12 yr old and had an all star basketball game at the exact time of the SECCG vs KY. My dad and I promised each other not to check the score and come home after my game and watch a vhs recording we had set up. Well being an anxious 12 yr old, I told my dad I couldn't wait and went in the other room to watch the score ticker on CNN hl news. My dad told me not to spoil it for him but I couldn't help my reaction. Hands down the best memories of Msu bball.

As far as football games go
1. 98 Arkansas, missed it over a stupid Jr high gf.
2. 96 bama, my dad wasn't feeling good and bitched out. I was so pissed at him but he made up for it by taking me to the 97 bama gm in Bryant stadium and jj Johnson went the 17 off. Dad almost cried bc he thought he'd never see Msu beat bama @ bama.
3. 04 Florida, was waaaaay hung over

I sat and watched that damn game til the end of the third quarter and finally said to hell with it and went back to my tent to drink my sorrows away. Also because My dad was hammered and telling some of my UM friends to, "17 themselves and the horse they rolled in on." It was all a blur after that, special thanks to Mr. Evan Williams.

<div>Probably the only two home games I missed without a legitimate excuse since 2001 when I started school.</div><div>
</div>I actually came to Starkville and had tickets to the Florida game. We were running a little late and my wife wanted to go shopping at the lodge. So we stopped in there and didn't get out till end of first quarter. I just had no desire to go to the game even though I think we were playing competitively... maybe even had the lead. Drove to the in-laws house about 20 minutes away & watched the 2nd half. <div>
</div><div>I don't remember why I missed Bama 2007. Guess I just didn't have tickets to that game. This was the year I had quit buying season tickets because I was fed up with it.</div>

I luckily in my 6 years at State (4 for undergrad in meteorology, class of 2010, and 2 for grad in meteorology and GIS, class of 2012), I was able to attend my two best games, Bama 2007 and Florida 2009. I sat 5 rows up on the same side that Anthony Johnson intercepted the ball and what a great game...Then I sat w/ my girlfriend and friends in the upper deck against Florida and got to see that game too..The UF game to me was the loudest I've ever heard it in my 6 years there when Jonathan Banks intercepted it for 100 yd TDs..So I got to see both of our 100yd TDs which was great..I regret leaving the 2007 Egg Bowl in the 3rd quarter and walked back to Hathorn Hall and heard the crowd yelling and my dad yelling that Anthony Dixon scored..All my friends had left and so I left too cause I thought it was over (won't ever do it again)...Then I watched us win from my room...The one I do regret not being able to attend though was the Gator Bowl. I so wanted to go to that game but being a meteorologist, we had a tornado outbreak impending on New Years Eve and so I had to work the whole event and didn't get off work til like 345am on New Years and that was like a 14hr day..It was crazy though when a tornado took a track toward our office and we had to take cover and another office had to issue warnings for us while we took cover..Anyway, I slept in that day and woke up and watched the game on ESPN360 on my Xbox..What a great game...But I had my first big experience of working a tornado outbreak so that was ok...Anyway, glad we stomped Michigan though..

I wanted to go but had to work that morning. If only we would have been playing on campus back then. It really is ridiculous in retrospect when I consider how we had to drive 100+ miles from campus to attend home football games.

A very close second for me was the SECCG as I lived in the ATL area at the time. It is second only because we lost the game and because I would have had a hard time getting tickets anyway.

By far it was the 2004 Florida game my dad had season tickets for us but I was in high school and played high school football my team got beat down Friday night so I decided I didn't want to be on the losing end of two beat downs in the same weekend. Will never forgive myself for skipping that one. Best game I got to go to was the 07 vs Bama game
