I had some problems wioth firefox a few days ago on one of my computers at home.

1.My favorites all disappeared
2.The back button stopped working
3.History was gone and did not update.

I thought, okay something happened (of course). I tried restarting it. Rebooting the computer. Everything I could think of. Nothing worked.

I decided to download firefox again and reinstall it. Went to the site downloaded it and when it got through installing it said I had to reboot. When the computer came back up and I tried to open Firefox it said I had to reboot to use the newest version. Hmmm. So I REbooted again and same thing happend. So I figured I got a bad install and would just try again. I went to the site dowloaded the exe file, ran it and after it extracted all the files the window poped up saying I needed to reboot and it wasn't even through the install process yet. Hell, it hadn't even started. I tried to go to the control panel to remove the bad version but it is not there. I tried to remove some of the plugins that did show and it wouldn't let me. That same damn window popped up again telling me to reboot. I tried opening it up in safe mode. Same damn thing happens.

What the hell?

Fire it up in fire fox safe mode: run "firefox -safe-mode" and jsut follow the logical choices. You may need to uninstall extensions working your way backwards by date ext was installed.

Safe mode will help you find out what's going on
