What Happened?

What happened to Amelia County Boys basketball this year? In the state Final 4 for 2A last year to winless season this year.

From what I understand, they lost a LOT from last year's team.

And I was told this year's team has only 2 seniors.

I thought their best 2 players last year were juniors.

Graduated 9 seniors, just 4 returnees. Lone starter back - 5'10 guard Jamal Grant - was actually their second leading scorer.

It's a heavy re-building situation from what I gather talking with Coach Kevin Rather before the season. Their JV didn't do as well as expected last year. It's a very young group that's junior-heavy with a few sophomores.

But must admit, while I didn't see them as a Top 10 team, I am surprised at their record. Thought they would be closer to the .500 mark.
