These players just didn’t become bad overnight. They played together against Purdue, shot the ball ok, rebounded and defended. Now they look like a church league team with a depressed coach!!
Yeah that was idiotic of him and a sign that he’s not able to handle the pressure here.
honestly I would be good for just canceling the rest of the season or trimming the roster down to about 10 people to include the walk-ons. I cannot stand the makeup of this team and may just have to check out for the season. Wasn’t going to watch last night but ended up doing so and actually found it quite comical and found myself hoping our shots wouldn’t fall. To steal a catch phrase from our former “I don’t like my team”

What happened was we brought in a bunch of backups and role players.
I disagree. That bunch of backups beat Purdue and I’ll bet money you thought they were a great team with so much upside with JQ recovering. Something happened. Someone screwed a daughter or a girlfriend and **** hit the fan. Just speculating!

This game was just a bad matchup given who we have out. Get healthy and we will be good.
Yea I can’t deal with that. Give me a coach that puts the program first. If two players were fighting or even more do something about it. Don’t save their *** and embarrass the program. Just tell us straight up these guys had a couple blows and we got over it. Nobody has gotten over whatever it was and Pipe shouldn’t be allowed to do this mess.

When you are watching a train wreck you really just want to see the train jump the tracks. Holding on and skidding along the rails only delays the inevitable. I was fam enough to tune in knowing they were going to get their *** handed to them but I didn’t know they weren’t going to give effort. That’s when i hoped they just lost by 50.
How many of our portal players started for their teams? Lowe and JQ? If they didn’t start then they were back ups. We brought in a lot of back ups from other teams
We have a roster full of 6th Men, except for JQ (and God only knows when or if he will play).

Kam Williams played the second most minutes for Tulane.
Aberdeen was 6th man for the national champion. Would have started for basically every team in the country.
Mo D definitely a backup, but still a backup for a title contending team.
We have enough talent to be competitive. Maybe we don’t have anyone “great.” Or maybe we will when JQ is healthy.
But that’s a different story. Not saying it isn’t a problem. But it isn’t a lose by 35 to Gonzaga and get run off the floor by MSU kind of problem.
That’s the $64,000 question, because just using the eye test, you’d think with the right coaching, these dudes could be a Top 5 team all season long!

Nah they’re much better than this. We’ve got former champs and final four guys, Oweh….easily should be one of the better teams in the conference. Kam was one of the best shooters and most minutes on Tulane. But in any event, Definitely better than getting beat like this. These guys aren’t trying. They hate each other, you’ve got a split on the team and there are several issues going on.
Oweh to me has been suspicious over several games from last season on. I think some of the players can’t stand him and know what he’s doing. But thing is this team can easily beat some of these teams in talent level and definitely isn’t bad enough to get beat this bad.
If Oweh continues to play, then Mark needs to be removed at the end of the season.
I keep saying this. Why is this roster staying the same? Why is Oweh out there with guys that hate him? Why aren’t you playing the guys that need to play and benching the issues?
Even if we’re a booster that paid money, wouldn’t want it to continue. Bench the cancers.
They are a bunch of role players that why we can’t score they were used on their former teams I. Spot minutes no big minutes
Oweh has weak handles. He gets the ball raked from him every time he drives to the basket and stands there looking confused with his hands in the air while the other team fast breaks down the foor

Everyone points to the Louisville as the turning, but I think it’s gap between these two games. Regardless of being an exhibition both teams wanted to win each time or at least in the first one. Pressure and doubt ran rampant, fingers pointed towards each other and apathy has settled in. There’s no incentive to do otherwise with how the system is structured, you know your getting paid no matter the quality, at the end of the season you are free go try somewhere else.
Pope’s weird phrasing about “flipping the switch too soon” pregame against Louisville, whatever the heck that even means, is the moment I began to feel he has no clue what he’s actually doing in a role this big. He was bailed out last season by a veteran group that had tremendous pride and punched above their weight class as a result of it. I simply have no earthly idea what constitutes “flipping the switch too soon” in the setting of game preparation. These guys aren’t fireworks with a specific fuse length. You’re the coach, unflip this mythical switch until whatever arbitrary time you seem to need.
The fact that people are still putting any sort of stock in the Purdue exhibition is astonishing.
